This story just became huge....a very popular NFL star(overrated or not), indicted for his involvement in dog fighting operation....All indications were that indictments were forthcoming, but that Vick wouldnt be included, so this is a nasty turn of events for him and the Falcons....I was shocked when I heard this....Im stunned....among the methods the indictment mentions for eliminating weak or losing dogs was hanging, drowning, and slamming dogs into the ground....but the one that i really was disturbed by was a scenario in which an assosiate of Mike Vick is accused of speaking with Vick about the dog, then wetting it down, and electicuting it....
The cruelty charges are disgusting. What stood out to me was there was interstate commerce of the dogs. Interstate means this is a crime @ the Federal level.
It gauls me to see how the NFL does not want a rush to judgement on MV who as we all know is quite the merchandising ikon & box office draw.

Man... reading some off the stuff about the torture going on was just plain awful.

I think if it really gets out, and he really looks guilty, the NFL will figure out a way to do something. This is as bad or worse than most of the stuff they've suspended other guys for.

Disgusting.
I know its innocent before proven guilty but I just don't buy that he wasn't involved in anything. It was in his own house.

Goodall has to do something or he cuts his own legs off at the knee. Here is a link to a Vick tennis shoe video. Right around the37 second mark, Michael shows a picture of a dog on his show and proclaims, "I love my dogs." Vick says it again around the 41 second mark.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbFcsdI8WYY
I wonder how they will incorporate this indictment into the marketing campaign. I heard Jamie Pukes, on the NFL Network, talking about how anyone who knows Michael Vick knows he's a good kid. I would like to hear Pukes read the details of the indictment and then proclaim what a good kid Vick is. Should we start a pool to predict how long it takes for Vick to run to Andrea Kramer and cry about how he's just misunderstood?

The reason that Goodall hasn't done anything is because he hasn't been charged with anything. All an indictment is a grand jury has found enough evidence to charge someone. It's up to the prosecutor to bring charges. If Vick gets charged than I hope that Goodall suspends him for a season. If Goodall doesn't do anything I hope that he and Vick gets booed where ever he goes. I hope that PETA camps outside of the Falcons Trainig camp and yells and screams that he a dog murder. I dont like PETA but how can anyone condone any of these actions?
Personally, since I'm such an avid dog lover, this absolutely sickened me -- I wonder how far this JERK would go for his "personal entertainment" ... especially when it involved helpless, defenseless dogs unable to protect themselves?
It would not surprise that the a$$hole wouldn't do the same to helpless, defenseless children -- just so he could add a few more ill-gotten dollars to his bank account(s)!

Personally -- if I were the NFL Commissioner, I'd fire him for lying to me and for endangering the lives of helpless dogs, just for his SICK enjoyment and padding his bank account(s)!

Stop the presses. We've found a use for PETA. Don't get me wrong. I am an animal lover, but this organization irks me. Maybe they will throw buckets of the opposing team's colors of paint on Vick as he steps off the team bus. Now that would be priceless.
Hahaha, great work.

I can't say I have any knowledge on the situation but reading about dog torture is just horrific to me.

Honestly, if a Federal grand jury has found good reason to indict Vick, then it really doesn't look good for him. Yeah, innocent until proven guilty, but Federal grand jury's tend to be pretty careful.
We already saw Pac Man, Henry, and Tank Johnson all get suspended and this is a far worst crime than any of them committed outside of Pac Man. He deserves to get suspended but the NFL isn't going to do anything. Personally I think he deserves 10 games and if he is found guilty it shouldn't matter because he should get years in prision.
The difference I think is Jones, Henry, Johnson were suspended after repeat offenses. I think that's the reason why the NFL suspended Jones for a full season without a conviction.
I just want to see Vick plead his way down by naming names. There is no way he is the only professional athlete into this crap
Unfortunately, for Mike, the law in Virginia works against him. If he just knew it was going on and did not try to stop it, he is as guilty as if he were an actual participant. Back when this story first broke and got some play every day on local news here in Va. as well as the sports media, Falcons owner Arthur Blank said that if Vick was indicted he'd cut him from the team. We'll see.
The important thing to remember here is that it doesn't matter if Vick was actually involved in the dog fights, it's that he knew and didn't stop it or report it. Lot of Hokie fans around here think he's just being picked on. Some don't even see what the problem is!
Where this will leave the Falcons I can't say, but I bet they're re-thinking that Schaub trade!

I mean repeated DUI's or Two Felony charges in Dog Fighting? Which looks more "bad" to you? I understand your proven innocent until found guilty but like someone already said. The Feds are usually pretty careful when it comes to gathering evidence.

But to do stuff like that to a child oran animal shows contempt & an incredible lack of respect for pretty much everything.
What I'm curious to know is; What hasMarcusVick been up to? Does he have a role in any ofthis given his past & the fact he's had plenty of free time recently?
