oh come on!
like you've never fouled a guy harder than you ment to?
Al Horford isn't know as a rough guy who hits ppl hard all the time. He committed an accident and was remorseful for doing it.
you ppl who won't cut him some slack, you've never done something bad and asked for understanding and forgiveness. Get off your high horse.

If Horford had a history of hard nasty fouls then yeah he deserves your venom.

If I was attending the game I wouldn't boo him at all and I think anyone who does is plain ignorant.

    for what?

being in the high horse is more akin to acting live you've never done such a thing and you're better than that person while judging them, when in this case I don't think most ppl are.
    Being ignorant is compeletly different.

Yah, okay Celtic fan, it only makes it worse that it would have to happen to our number 2 scorer and possibly best player on the team. It's easy to say something when it doesn't happen to you. What if Horford took out Garnett? You Celtic fans would be crying out to kingdom come. So don't pretend to be all understand and forgiving when nothing has happened against your best player. Guess what, I actually am going to this game and Horford is going to get booed. In fact, I paid good money, so he will definitely get booed. Remorse doesn't count when he can contribute to his team and the player he took out can't do the same on his. You should cut Toronto some slack. Geez, don't come in here and bring your crap Celtic Fan, it's annoying. Oh, and who are you to judge who is ignorant from who isn't. It's possible with TJ in our lineup that our record could POSSIBLY be higher than it is, who's to say right, but it doesn't help that he's injured. Let's see Horford or even Bowen do that to a Celtic player and you guys act all civil. Gimme a break Celtic Fan, as a fan of a team, if you pay good money or even if you don't, you should be able to boo as much as you want at a game. Not everybody can be as amazingly forgiving and understanding as you, but let's just have Horford take out Garnett, Pierce or Allen and see if you don't complain as much. You're as bad as they come Celtic Fan and who are you to judge who's ignorant from who's not? I'm a Toronto fan, and the cheap CELTICS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why are you even in this post talking about ignorance? Get back to your Celtics post and overanalyze why the Celtics are better than Detroit and leave Toronto alone. Geez, I'm getting all worked up.

The Hawks' rookie center spent three years touring some of the most venomous environments in basketball during his All-American career at Florida.

So he's been in an uncomfortable place or two and handled himself pretty well.

"I've heard some pretty nasty things over the years, about myself and my family and just about anything else you can think of," Horford said. "I've never been one to play to the crowd or let them get to me, and I won't start now, no matter what's being said or done."

The ill-feelings toward Horford stem from his foul on Raptors point guard T.J. Ford late in the Hawks' Dec. 11 loss that resulted in Ford spending the night in an Atlanta hospital and Horford being suspended for a game for a flagrant foul. [READ]

Do you even understand what this poster is talking about? Obviously he believes that Horford is a good guy that did something bad on that night. It's hard to contain emotions here just like it was hard for Horford to contain his fouling ability against TJ. How do you make any sense for not understanding that? Heck, if I knew who you were, I'd boo both you and Horford.

I boo indiscriminately, as long as I feel it has a chance of getting in a player's head. Horford's a grown man and he's probably dealt with much worse during his college career. No need to be so sensitive or politically-correct.

a: I live in Canada and see more Raptors games than Celtics gams so I know enough about the Raptors.
b: regardless of who was fouled it comes down to an accident and not understanding that makes you thick. Do you play basketball? Have you ever fouled someone harder than you ment to and they've hit the ground hard? If Horford did this all the time then fine he's a dirty S.O.B. who deserves to be booed like Bowen
c: If it happened to Garnett or Paul I'd be disappointed because it hurts the team for sure but I wouldn't necessairly blame Horford, like I said it's an accident
d: face it, the Raptors are playing better with Calderon staring and running the team. TJ should come off the bench as a spark plug scoring type PG.
e: get over your Celtic envy
f: if you think blaming Horford is the answer you are indeed ignorant, he's a fair player who works hard and didn't exactly send player to hospital all of the time while at Florida, hence my comments.
g: nice generalization about Celtics fans... ever read any of my posts?

Nobody is disputing this, and this isn't even an issue right now. As far as we all know, we all love the raptors here. Let's just stick with the topic and not go all over the place.

Okay, I don't think calling people thick is really going to solve anything, but if you want to play dirty and get emotional in regards to post maybe you really need to seek professional help. Yes, I do play basketball. In fact I played for U of T's Varsity Blues in '96 and I was aware of fouls, yet if it ever came down to me hurting someone unintentionally I would prepare for the worst boos from fans of that team (that's just the way how sports goes), there are good guys and bad guys and sometimes you just play the role. If you can't understand that, then maybe this game is just too much for you to handle and you should stick to Checkers.

c: If it happened to Garnett or Paul I'd be disappointed because it hurts the team for sure but I wouldn't necessairly blame Horford, like I said it's an accident

Okay, we clearly have different views in regards to what constituted an accident. Horford cried, Horford went to the hospital. An accident? Perhaps in your opinion. Intentional foul to stop Ford from scoring is mine, he just went a bit too far. For that he gets boos, and if you're a leaf fan and a true Torontonian, vengeance in any way is a must. Besides Bosh has said in the paper today that the fans should try to give Horford a hard time today. The only way the fans can do that is by booing. I don't think any other way is aloud.

I love Calderon and I agree with this statement. There are so many arguments in regard to the Ford/Calderon debate, so I don't want to get into it. It's been exhausted.

Why are you a Raptor fan and living in Canada and calling yourself Celtic Fan? If you're strictly a fan because their winning then that's childish in itself. Oh geez, I didn't say kill the guy. I said I'm booing him, or did you happen to know the difference between booing and the other alternative. You must be from high school or possibly college because no university student or alumni could be this intellectually challenged.

Just a couple of things to note. He isn't a fan of Boston just because they are winning. I looked at his first post and he says that he is a fan of Boston because his Dad was a fan of Boston. His first post was December 2006, at that time the Celtics had been sucking for a few seasons in a row and had not acquired Ray Allen or KG yet. He isn't a bandwagon fan, seems like he has been a fan all his life.

Here is his first post on Dec 21st, 2006:

QUOTE

Hey all,New guy here (and in need of a sig :winkglasses: ) and of course this was the first place I had to visithere's my 411;1. What's your name? Drew2. Where do you live? Ottawa Canada3. Age? 344. How did you become a Celtics fan? I liked all the teams my Dad did growing up so that ment the Celtics for B-Ball5. How long have you been a Celtics fan? since the early/mid 80's when the NBA was on the best channel for basketball CBS!6. Who is your favorite Celtic (current)? Why? Paul Pierce - He understands what it means to be a Celtic and the tradition it carries. His resigning with the team was a great moment for Celtic fans7. Who is your favorite Celtic (all-time)? Why? Wow, hard to say one so here's a few Larry Bird, no explanation needed. Reggie Lewis (R.I.P) such a great person and a superb player. Smooth in every sense of the word, he never forced his game. A crying shame his health problem and death. Kevin McHale, just a great technician in the post so many moves, it was a joy to watch. Paul Pierce, he carries the team and almost always rises to the occasion.I've left out the earlier Celts because I never saw them play.

Here is another post about Paul Pierce on Dec 23rd, 2006:

QUOTE

well duh, who doesn't Love Paul's skills, grit and contributions to the game.He has to be respected for signing an extension with a team that is young and struggling rather than making the Celts fans wait it out and hope he doesn't flee.He had a good realtionship with Red and understood the importance of being a Celtic. He's also a top 10 talent in the league.I'd rank him as my 3rd fav all time CelticBird and Reggie Lewis being ahead of him.I wasn't around to appreciate the great Celts of the 60's so I won't rank them ahead of the greats I have seen.
