    I'm talking about the deal.

When I saw that not only were we getting two first rounders AND Devin Harris, I was in shock.

what about the cavs? hughes is playing really well, and if they include first rounders, they'd be a little higher than dallas'

    It isn't a no-trade clause

It's a right given to players in his contract situation.. Read up on Larry Bird/Early Bird rights. Basically it's about money for George, who basically would want a sign and trade to go anywhere, assuming he doesnt finish up his contract as a Mav.

Devean George sounds like the biggest douche bag in this video. Really, that was some Karma shit, with him going 0-11.

I wish the Nets would play Dallas tomorrow, so that someone could injure him.

Think we could get away with this: link

Which would replace George with Jones and Juwan Howard, and we could release the 2 (exp contracts) so that they could re-sign with Dallas?

Setback is that Dallas's depth would be shot to hell for a month.

The only other way to pull this off is with Trenton Hassel replacing George. Yuck.

I guess Fazekas and Jones will be headed to NJ and George will be staying in Dallas? I know Stack is in some hot water over the comments about the buy out

Hopefully this works out in our favor like a few people have mentioned. Cuban has said he refuses to use KVH but we can all see how credible Cuban can be on this type of stuff. He seems to be playing cat and mouse with the Nets as far as how much he wants Kidd and how hard he will try to get him. Ultimately if this is what Cuban thinks is best I can see him being tantalized with the prospect of this being imminent and saying **** it, bye bye KVH contract. Deavon George sure does know how to get under the skin of both the team hes playing on and the one he could potentially go to. Sounds like a winner.

For someone who's distracted, he still was able to put up 11 shots. If anything, this should have been the game of his life. He wanted time, he got it. What did he show for 33 minutes? 4 boards and 2 dimes. As for "we", I think he meant "Dirk" when reffering to their win. Dirk pulled through. Not Mr. George. It was Dirk, who finished with 37 points and 12 boards. When his teammates called to wish him well, I think they were saying goodbye politely. You got your 15 minutes George, time to pack up!

after hearing his reasons why he blocked it I can't even be upset with him. He is doing what best for him financially. I would love to see the trade get done but he's right though. The Mavs are doing what best for them by trading him and he's doing whats best for him by blocking the trade.

If it doesn't get done oh well. Kidd will probably pout some more. I'm hearing on ESPN that this deal likely doesn't get done without George.

If it's meant to be it will happen if not it won't.

Let me see if I have this right.

George has the "Early Bird Agreement" Which means he is a Qualifying Veteran and

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A player qualifies for this exception after playing two seasons without being waived or changing teams as a free agent [...]

Early Bird contracts must be for at least two seasons (which limits this exception's usefulness -- it's often better to take a lower salary for one more season and then have the full Bird exception available the next season) and no longer than five seasons. A player can receive raises up to 10.5% of the salary in the first season of the contract using this exception.</div>

    NBA Salary Cap FAQ

So, George is using his Early Bird Exception to not get traded to NJ. Is that correct?

LOL. Did anyone see the box score on the bottom of ESPNews? It shows Dirk's stats and then show Gump's stats, 0 PTS (0-11 FG). Looks like ESPN doesn't really like George either.

Can't blame him for not wanting to go to a bad team. (nets)

On the other hand, how the hell does he have a no trade clause?

With all due respect, what would your reaction had been had Ray Allen rejected the trade to the Celtics, and a Nets fan had said "Can't blame him for not wanting to go to a bad team."

you are crazy! larry hughes has 3 yrs remaning at $12million per yr hes not worth that at all, hes older than harris and has already reached his ceiling. NO WAY i trade kidd for hughes.

they would also have to give kidd his 20million extension he wants, which they would not be in a position to do financially

the only possible destination is dallas

    Two questions-
1 Wouldn't George make more money if the Nets bought him out AND he resigned with Dallas? Shouldn't he make money as a free agent b/c he is a good player that teams want to have and not because of some clause in his contract?
2 Didn't the Nets previously negotiate with George two or three years ago when he was a free agent? Or was that just a rumor that never actually came true? I swear I remember a rather long discussion about it on another board before S2 came about.
