From NFL.com Alge Crumpler is meeting with the following teams at the NFL Combine: Green Bay, Buffalo, Detroit, Seattle, Carolina, Tampa Bay and Tennessee. Carolina- He went to school at UNC and it would be a short drive Green Bay- Assuming Brett Favre is still there, he would go to a contender but would battle Donald Lee for the starting position Detroit- Pass first offense, where he would get a lot of Receptions Tennessee- I dont seem him going here because of the depth at TE that they have. Tampa Bay- Would battle Alex Smith for starter, short move, and rival Buffalo- Definite starter but small market and really cold Seattle- Contender, would defintly start over Pollard I think his short list is Carolina, Tampa Bay, Seattle, and Green Bay assuming he would get equal money. Where do you think he will end up.
I wish Favre would confirm that he's coming back next season. That would increase Green Bay's chances of landing him. Ted Thompson's fairly cheap, too. If Crumpler is trying for a big pay day, you can cross Green Bay off the list. I miss the two tight end formations with Keith Jackson and Mark Chmura. Lining up Crumpler and Lee together would be a nice upgrade.
Looks like he decided on the Falcons. I forgot Ben Troupe is a free agent, someone should pick him up as a #2 TE.
I cannot believe the Falcons cut this guy. I'm still too pissed about it to even make a comment on the fact that he is going to be playing with Vince Young. On a positive note, I'm sure we'll get a high draft pick again next year.
