I'll admit, it bothers the hell outta me. I feel like a single parent who's raised a child that's gotten into Harvard, only to have my glory marginalized when my MIA ex-spouse shows up at the graduation. I should quit being a primadonna vag.
It annoys me too. I stuck with the Raps for some crappy seasons and then when I finally get rewarded with an entertaining, winning ball club, the seats get more expensive and are bought up by douchebag businessmen who don't know the first thing about basketball. Lakers bandwagonners are a hundred times worse though. I don't think I could handle being an actualy Lakers fan in LA.

I'll always feel a little dirty. Your story about the rich businessmen reminds me of what happened with the Warriors in the playoffs last year. They had the best fans in the league for many years (reflected by the awesome first two games in their series against Dallas) and then rich businessmen began weasling their way in, increasing demand, and with it, ticket prices. The games were so much more fun when the place was filled with fans who had something invested in the team other than an expensive ticket.
It bothers me too because those are the same people who try to piss you off by talking trash and going "Lakers suck!" when another team is on top.
I've never had to really worry about them, you guys are lucky you've had a team worthy of bandwagoners.
You know what's worse than bandwagon fans? Poser homer fans. The ones who claim that Jeter is better than A-Rod, because of some magical intangibles. The ones who claim that 2 great plays over 7 years make up for all the "And past a half assing, too-deep-to-3rd base-side, Jeter!". Or the ones who claim that they love the Giants, when they can't even tell you what position Michael Strahan plays. Or the idiots who claim the Nets got robbed in the Kidd trade, who believe draft picks are meaningless, and cap space is worthless. /me is done with rant.
The worst bandwagon fans are the University of Michigan fans. Most of the people who like that school go to community college, or never went to college at all. Total bullshit if you ask me. MSU is the BEST school in Michigan by far, but because we dont have a kickass football team right now, everyone thinks scUM is the shit...****
The Lakers have some of the worst bandwagon fans. Just look on LG and CL. I'm used to it, every team is gonna have a few.

I love Celtics fans though, very passionate
If we don't have bandwagon fans, that means no one cares about LA or we're not winning. So it's just something one needs to get used to.
I don't really mind bandwagonners, because they will always be there. I've pretty much always followed the Lakers since I started playing basketball, which was 9yrs ago (I'm only turning 19 in May). Outside of the Lakers, I usually pick another team in the West and 2 teams in the East to follow (not really hug their nuts, but like I would pick them in a head to head against every other team, unless it's my Lakers) There's just something about the Lakers (something I'm sure long-time Celtics fans feel), that cries majestic. The legacy, history, success, and class that mystified me when I first started following basketball. I don't know, maybe living in SoCal all my life, might have an effect on that, but I don't care. (BTW recent trend, I usually follow the Lakers and the Rockets every year in the West cause Yao is my hometown hero, I'm Shanghainese but born in Pasadena; In the East this year, I went with Washington because I like the trio over there)
The thing with teams like the Lakers and, to a certain extent, the celtics is that yes there are bandwagon fans but there are so many more fans who are literally in love with their team. Laker fans are the most defensive over thier players when other fans put them down or critisize them. I for one have been a lakers fan since i was about five or six years old (i am 18 now). I was given a little toy basketball ring and basketball with the lakers written on it, the backboard and the ball were purple and yellow and they had the iconic lakers symbol on them, i was 5 i think, and since then my love for the lakers has only grown. through the lakers i discovered basketball. there are alot of other laker fans that are just as passionate, especially on this forum. so bandwagoners dont bother me too much, if my team is winning or losing, in the playoffs or not, i am happy to be a laker fan, bandwagon fans will end up leaving but true laker fans will stay, and that is a good thing to think about rather then rich fukers who call themselves fans.

What if you like a player? I wont say im a Laker fan, but I like Gasol I have no clue why its crazy. I also like players who went to MSU like J-Rich, MoPete, Agar, Brown, Bell....I also cant root against Hill, Delph, Darko...
Lakers bandwagoners are the worst. And what is really annoying is the mfers that swear they're Lakers fans, but don't watch none of the games...and when playoffs come around they act like they're the biggest Lakers fans ever. I know a few people like that, it's rediculous. Warriors BW fans are getting bad too..
