HA! Just kidding. Calm down Laker fans <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Bynum did not experience pain or swelling in his left knee the day after jogging in a swimming pool, a positive sign in the recovery process of the 20-year-old center. "It responded great from the pool. No extra swelling, and I was able to do everything I needed to do today," he said Friday. "I think we've got about a week and a half of the pool and if I keep doing well and don't get any more swelling, then I'll actually be able to get on the treadmill. Once I'm on there, I should be able to get on the court." The earliest Bynum would return is March 11 against Toronto, although the Lakers will take their time working him back into game action. Accordingly, he is not expected to return until an unspecified date later in March, although he seemed eager Friday. "I think I can run," he said, smiling. "I don't want to try it right now and hurt myself." Bynum has missed 18 games since sustaining a deep bone bruise in the knee and a subluxation of the kneecap Jan. 13 against Memphis.</div> http://www.latimes.com/sports/basketball/n...1&cset=true
If Bynum comes back, I expect him to be the third option behind Kobe and Gasol. He is still pretty raw offensively, and Gasol seems to be scoring the ball with ease lately.
I don't get where the **** all this "raw offensively" bullshit is coming from. Give him ****ing touches and he ****ing produces.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Black Mamba @ Feb 23 2008, 09:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Good. I want to see him dominate again. I want to see him push Gasol to the third option.</div> I think Bynum is very solid offensively, as his per-minute-possession stats would indicate. Saying he is "pretty raw" is a stretch, but overtaking Gasol's impressive production as the second option will be difficult.
I know it will be, but I do expect Gasol's production to dip. Like I stated, I expect something like this: Fisher - 9 PPG Kobe - 27 PPG Lamar - 12 PPG Gasol - 17 PPG Bynum - 15 PPG
He said best case scenario was April 1st. I really am starting to think his season might be over, as they don't want to rush him back.
^ when did he say that? He said during the game yesterday he's looking to get 10-15 games in before the playoffs. Nothing sounded pessimistic at all
That makes absolutely no sense. When they interviewed him, he said he'd be out another 4 to 6 weeks, and then he said the best case scenerio is April 1st? If he is back in 4 weeks, that will around March 20th. If he is out for 6 weeks, he'll be back in early April, maybe a couple days after April 1st. So he's contradicting himself. I don't think he'll miss out the rest of the season, and if you ask me, I believe he'll be back late March, or early April. We'll still have a couple of games before the postseason starts to let him shake off the rust. Seeing how well we've been playing after acquiring Gasol (I believe we're 9-1), that puts absolutely no pressure on Bynum to return, so I believe the organization will want him to sit out a bit longer just for precautionary reasons.
I did not hear him say anything about april 1st. What he said was another 4-6 weeks from this point. He's running in the pool and has not had any swelling .. He said he expects to get in 10-15 games .. Those ppl at LG are just being pessimistic bums overanalyzing every word. I dunno how you can draw "I will probably get 10-15 games" as "I will be out for the rest of the season"
I don't really trust LG. Most of the posters there are drama queens anyways. You should go there after a loss, most of them believe the world is over. I don't really check LG anymore unless it's offseason or unless it's approaching trade deadline since they have "insiders" and stuff. 99% of the insiders turn out to be fake anyways
Good to hear the good news. Hopefully he gets back with about 10 games or so left, that way he can back in to game shape. Not to mention it'll take a few games for him and Pau to get some chemistry, and we need everyone on the same page come playoff time.
The Lakers are going to be very scary once Bynum returns. Looking at their starting lineup these days is as scary as it can get. Not to mention that once the off-season hits there will be tons of ring seeking veterans who can contribute joining in.
