I bet Earl Boykins could outlift Durant too.

John Daly wouldn't get close to a major today. The physical side of golf has changed enormously in the 15 or so years since he won.

Sir Desmond said he wouldn't get close to a MAJOR today.

He won the Buick Invitational in 04. That is not a major.

The last time he won a major was in 95 at the Brit Open.

Well, it's not really clear that's what he meant.

In any case, they just played a major at the same course - which is tough no matter how it is set up.

Daly probably couldn't win a major now because he is old and his game has gone to hell, but another fat, chain smoking alcoholic who is a golf prodigy like Daly is could definitely win.

John Daly is a special talent.

I took it as two separate statements.

    I'm not understanding the hostility.

LOL. I feel OK about that.

I have a couple more months of peace and serenity before I have to worry again.

The conditioning of some golf players may have improved, but inherent in the game itself conditioning is not a huge attribute. If a guy like Phil Mickelson can be considered the #2 guy in the sport, and recently won a major in 2006 (The Masters) would be considered a very good example. Golf requires a lot of skill, no doubt, but I wouldn't argue great conditioning is required.

About the time Phil started winning, he was working out, losing weight, etc.

    Probably a coincidence.

Granted, he is not in the shape that Tiger is in....
