Hey everyone looong time no see! Sorry I wasn't around for the Packers great ride this season!

But anyways I give you my First Packers Mock Draft of 08!

*- Compensation (6th for David Martin, and a 7th for Amahn Green).

    1. Brandon Flowers CB Va Tech- Has had some character problems in the past but a small town setting such as Greenbay could fix any of those issues, Flowers is a phyhe prefers Man Coverage over other forms, which sounds to me like he's a perfect fit. Has Mentioned Greenbays defense favorably in a couple of interviews i've read which also makes me think he'll be a good fit, a little raw so this pick may be a little high but I think it pays off.

2(a). Chilo Rachael OG USC- Big Physical and Athletic Offensive linemen, left school early to pursue an NFL career because of his mother's health. Has ability to provide Depth to our O-line at the very least and could even challenge for a starting spot.
Worst case Scenario he sits for a year like Allen Babre and learns the offense while getting a a little bit of game time in here and there and comes in the 2009 season ready to contend for a spot truly.

2(b). Charles Godfrey CB Iowa- Another Early Corner yes, but another guy that has potential to fit into our system perfectly. Similar move to what Philly did a few seasons ago. He's Very Physical like Flowers, and can also be moved out to safety if needed, says he prefers Man Coverage over other forms, which sounds to me like he's a perfect fit. Has Mentioned Greenbays defense favorably in a couple of interviews i've read which also makes me think he'll be a good fit, a little raw so this pick may be a little high but I think it pays off.

    3. JerMichael Finely TE Texas- Very Dynamic young man, whose Combine numbers will make him slide, don't be fooled though he has the speed to open up the passing game and help take it to those Cover Two Defenses, will be a great compliment to Donald Lee in the passing game, needs to bulk up and work on his blocking but these can be taught and grown his athletic ability cannot.

    4. Tom Zbikowski S Notre Dame- Solid Hard Working safety, falls here due to his supposed limited athletic ability and coverage issues, eventually or even immediately this guy could challenge for a spot at Safety but for now at the very least he becomes a special teams Phenom with return and coverage capability.

    5. Eric Young OT Tennessee- Thanks to his shoulder surgery Young slips to the 5th, he's the epitome of an NFL Left tackle and could probably be moved around on the O-line thanks to his physical ability when healthy. Another Vol here that could potentially take Clifton's spot if Babre or Colledge don't appear to be the answer

    6(a)- TRADED for Ryan Grant

6(b)*-Leroy Guion DT Florida State- Quick athletic Linemen who can really get through a line, adds depth and competition to an already deep spot, but definitely has potential to take a spot on the final roster.

7(a)-Chad Simpson RB Morgan State- Very Complete Running back, comes from a smaller school, but has potential as a receiver out of the backfield and change of pace back.

7(B)*- Ben Moffitt LB USF- - Good Combination of size and athletic ability with athe the skills needed for coverage, as shown by his four Interceptions this season. Potential Special teamer and even Possible Competition for Poppinga.

What about the 2nd round pick they just got from the Browns for Corey Williams?

Welcome back, by the way. [IMG]

    Not Brandon Flowers [IMG]

I rather see Reggie Smith from Oklahoma. If not him then obviously I'd like to see a guard like Brandon Albert from Virginia or a Tight End like Fred Davis from USC. Packers have a lot of options.

If I had it my way then Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie would be my guy. He's had great showings at the Senior Bowl and Combine. Unfortunately for the Pack, I think DRC is going to be selected by pick #30.

Yea thats my thinking too, DRC is my dream pick but his combine numbers may have put him out of reach. I honestly think Greenbay would be the best spot for him, he'd be able to add strength and learn from the starters while getting some playing time in a Nickel or Dime role.

Reggie Smith is too much of a tweener for my liking, of course I hated the Harell, Jackson, Jones, and Rouse picks so it shows what I know :P
