As badly as the road trip went, I think it was the swift kick in the ass this team needed. It sort of looks like TJ Ford was the only one who responded appropriately, but we'll see if that is the case or not now that we are back home for a good number of games.

The seeding issue is a big one. It looks like we won't get home court this season and Washington seems to be ready to catch up to us.

Who would you rather play in the first round?

I vote for Orlando. Even at full strength, I don't fear that team. You can take DHo out of his comfort zone without too much difficulty, and after that they are a jumpshooting team, though not as good a jumpshooting team as we are.

Cleveland scares me because they are physical, they have the best dribble-drive player in the league in James, and they have lots of size inside. Plus they have great three point shooting for James to kick out to in Jones, Gibson, and Szczerbiak.

    Go Washington!

I don't want watch the team get spanked by Bronbron and I agree, DHo and CB$ cancel each other out and I believe the sum of the remaining parts is greater on the Raps then Magic.

Don't even get me started on this road trip, it was a horrible disaster. We lost mostly all our games by 10+ points. What I've realized is that the Raps need Bosh and can't win without him. We definitely need changes this summer, and hope BC comes through.

    Thats my 2 cents.

i agree, raps do need a little change up and guess who we NEED and i mean NEED bak, Charlie V, anyone disagree with that? i mean the guy was a key fit in the raps roster. He was always the guy that stepped up big time for raps!

I think this is a potential blessing.

Cavs would be a real tough matchup. They are better than their record, and I've had them pegged as a team that will out perform their record come playoff time. They are probably the third best team in the conference and could potentially upset anyone if they get hot.

Orlando on the other hand is a good, but not great, team. Would gladly play them in the first round.

I don't think the raps will make real waves this year, but I'd like to see them make it to the second round. I think it would be great for the moral and confidence of its players, and a positive for the franchise as a whole. And might increase exposure attract some key FA attention over the next couple seasons.

You may say it was a blessing, but hopefully the Raptors dont get into a huge slump and drop to 7th because Philly is beating some really good teams and the only wins the Raptors seem to get are against bottom feeding teams fighting for the 1st overall pick in the draft.

If we do end up getting smoked in the first round I would like to see another wholesale change of the roster like last offseason. I dont want to give up on Bargnani and I have been a supporter of him but he has shown no signs of potential greatness this season at all, his shot is questionable now as well. I just hope he is in a 2nd year slump but somethings gotta give with this kid. I honestly dont think BC is gonna keep both PGs on the roster as it will be too costly and might use one to get a lower draft choice....oh well we'll see what happens.

    I've changed my mind.

Now I want us to play the Cavs in the first round. I want this team's faults to be obvious to everyone so that Colangelo can go about correcting them.

Playing an easier team in the first round and possibly making it to the second round would be good for some of our players, but it probably wouldn't help us to get to a championship level team. This team has major issues that need to be resolved.

With or w/o the Cavs, I think everyone in the know, understands the Raps weaknesses.

BC doesn't seem like the type of dude to let the wool get pulled over his eyes.

If BC has shown anything throughout his career it's been a willingness to pull the trigger.

Unless this team shows a genuine improvement between now and when they inevitably get knocked out of the playoffs I would expect substantial change.

I really can't get excited for this team if they aren't playing up to their potential, even if it means an easier first round matchup. I've been really surprised with the lack of intensity and togetherness with this year's roster, as its been a day-and-night difference from last season.

And I agree, if there's one thing that really makes me trust Colangelo, its his willingness to understand when something's not working and make a move to address the problem. Too many GM's in the league will get stuck in denial and turn what should be a roster adjustment into a full-blown rebuilding project.
