Thoughts I just wanted to throw around. With Minnesota hopefully getting the top pick in this years draft, and hopefully taking D. Rose. Does anyone else feel that Minnesota should take thier two second round picks (both should be top three in second round) and trade them for a low lottery pick or something close. I say this with teams like Phoenix in mind. With Shaq whale-sized contract and Atlanta's pick this could benefit both teams where Minny could draft a Big man while Phoenix doesn't need to be burdened with the price tag of a guaranteed lottery pick. Just a thought, trying to get the brain fluids flowing. Now, please keep in mind, I'm not a moron...I realize that it can all depend on where Minny ends up after the lottery or which restricted freeagents they plan on keeping (keep Gomes, Please!!!) Just wanted to start a lil convo, that's all!
Phoenix doesn't have a lottery pick but I do think they would trade their Atlanta pick. This draft isn't that deep and like you said they need to cut salary because of Shaq.
You're talking about the pick you only receive if Miami's pick ends up 4-10. And not top 3. I hope this happens as well though because I dislike the Heat very strongly.

I was hoing that Miami would do just good enough to let their slip to Minny, but they were really suckin' so those dreams washed down the drain in a hurry. Gotta remember that if Minny's pick falls outside the top 10 from now until 2011, the Clippers get it (damn, Jaric trade!!!)

I'm Hoping Minny can pull a trade close to that. maybe a sign and trade along with thier two 2nd rounders to trade up higher. It would be nice to get another pick in the top 10. Get a big man to help out Big Al
Not too bad of an idea. When Theo wasn't there, Al really needed help down low on the boards and on defense. Nobody can do that alone. I'm not sure what kind of big man you are thinking of in the middle of the first round though. Maybe a JaVale McGee from Nevada or something like that.

Minny could also pull a deal more extreme and trade the two second rounders along with Bostons 1st Rounder for next year and try to get another pick in the top 10 to get Brook Lopez imagine...... PG- Rose SG-Foye SF-Gomes PF-Big Al C-B. Lopez Bench- -Jaric -McCants -Brewer -Telfair -C. Smith -Richards -Contractual Dead-weight (AKA...Walker...lol)
I like it, except I'm not sure Lopez will be available at a pick ten. In most mock drafts, he is projected around picks 3-6.

It's all good, M'man. All in all I'm just waiting with white knuckle suspense until the lottery....oooo, I can't wait!
