Rumor has it Artest will be opting out of his contract this offseason (heard from emplay)

Artest was seen rooting for the Lakers at their home games during the Finals

Artest is great friends with Lamar Odom

    Artest idolizes Kobe

Phil Jackson said in his press conference that in order to win the championship next season, we will have to get tougher players

Would he accept our MLE for a chance to win a championship? And would you guys even want him on the roster?

    (pipe dream I know)

Eh, Walton, Ariza, Radmanovic one of them need to go if we get Artest. If we get Artest we will need to get rid of Odom? because no way I see them trading Kobe, Bynum and Gasol. I

Artest would be a HUGE upgrade. That would take a lot of the slack off Kobe on both ends of the floor, obviously defensively more. I think Artest is the type of guy that regardless of how deep you are at the SF/PF, if he wants to be there, you pick him up.

While the thought of Kobe, Artest and Bynum as a defensive trio next year would be a good though defensively probably one of the best defensive trio's in the league, I just would not want Ron Artest on my team or for a good team with a solid offense. While he is a talented all around player even on defense, Artest is a chemistry stopper offensively, and often time's a ball stopper. There are times where Ron Artest will take his team out of the ball game, wanting to shoot to much. His offensive smarts are not very high, and I don't find him compatible with the L.A. Laker's, and Phil Jackson's triangle offense. So if I was a Laker's fan, or front office guy, I don't believe getting Ron Artest would be something I would want for my team.

Just for your guys' taste buds.
I personally would love him, and I think he CAN learn to play in a system if he knows it will lead to a championship.

The most feasible possibility is a sign and trade between Odom and Artest plus fillers.

But maybe Sacramento would also accept a Walton plus Radmanovic deal...

Even if option 2 was a pipedream... and would be better for us, i would still want option 1 and trade odom for artest...

having 4 all starts isnt good and everyone would say that we won only through star power. (even more than the Celtics with Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Artest and Bynum)

Plus Artest would be cheaper than Lamar (near 8M)

BTW, has anyone considered trying to reacquire Java and making him our starting PG?

Anyway all i think is that we need Bynum and were all set... Hoep the injury bug doesnt hit next year

I'd take an Artest and cheap fillers for Odom swap any day of the week.

I'd take Ron Artest. His defense alone stops around 10 points per night.

I think at this point any Laker fan would take Artest over Odom.

I'd rather try and get Josh Smith for Lamar Odom.

imo we shouldn´t trade LO. Next season ur lineup gonna look like that rigth: Bynum, Pau,LO,Kobe,Fisher.I think LO will be ok at SF.Vlady is a piece of ****., coz he isn´t playin any D. Maybe lets try to trade him in a package with Luke 4 sum veterans.

But in order to keep LO he has to change his attitude, i don´t know if u guys know but after game 5 LO went to a club, instead gettin sum rest before the flight next morning.

Lamar, Pau, and Andrew haven't gotten a chance to play together so lets try this first out. if this ain´t gonna work we still kann trade him.

PJax is the perfect guy to coach Artest.

Problem is he plays Odom's position, if the Lakers decide to keep him.

I doubt it, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Lamar disappears when we need him most. He's proven it time and time again, he'll never change.

Kobe is the ultimate competitor. No way in hell does he miss the Olympic games. I wish he would rest and get that surgery, though.

The grass is greener on the other side of the fence.

If you don't have Odom, you might have Tyrus Thomas or Joakim Noah.

    I'd much rather have Odom.

Meaning, you have no idea how good his replacement might be, since we don't know who is replacement might be. There's a LOT of players worse than Odom.
