If he wants, say, a lil less than $2M/year, I wouldn't mind bringing Kwame back. But, if we can get Kurt Thomas, I'd take him in a heartbeat. GOOD veteran leadership, something we lack amongst our bigs.
Props to the Lakers for sticking with Ronny throughout his surgery. Hopefully he'll blossom in Oakland.
Assuming the Lakers don't match (which most of you seem to prefer), what options would you be looking at to replace Turiaf's production?

His heart/energy is nice, but we have bigger issues to worry about.

Phil loves Kwame's defensive presence in the paint. Kobe also likes Kwame, a lot. Also, for the Lakers, Kwame was a great locker room guy. He got a long with everyone and was usually involved with the team. Despite his offensive struggles, he was a chemistry builder in the clubhouse. I would offer him a $3 million contract if we do decide to let Mbenga go. We need a back up C, and I have no problems if it's Kwame.
I have no issues bringing back Kwame for cheap. All the players and coaches love him, even though he clearly can play like a bonehead sometimes.
Kwame wouldn't be bad for the Lakers at all if hes as solid defensively in the post as most L's fans say he is. A big 6'11 athletic, bulky, strong player who can play defense on Shaq/Amare/Duncan/Boozer/Yao/Oden/KG is definitely helpful to a contender.
The same people wanting Kwame back will be the same people calling for his head when the season starts. Just watch. Like Stephen A. Smith says, Kwame Brown does not know how to play the game of basketball. The only way I'd even think about letting him return is for the vet's minimum. 3 million for Kwame is way too much. If we're gonna give Kwame 3 million, we might as well match Ronny's offer with the Warriors, it's only 1 million more. Ronny shows more heart and detirmination in one game than Kwame has his entire career with the Lakers.
