<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>LAKE FOREST, Illinois (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bears on Wednesday agreed to terms on a five-year contract with offensive tackle Chris Williams, their first-round pick in this year's draft.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Chicago Tribune reported that the deal is worth $9 million.

The Bears now have all 12 draft picks signed heading into training camp, which begins Wednesday night.

With holes on both sides of the ball, Chicago began the rebuilding process by taking the 6-6, 315-pound Williams out of Vanderbilt with the 14th overall pick. The Bears posted a 7-9 record last season.

Williams has been projected as a starter for the Bears, who were unable to open many holes for Cedric Benson last season with an aging offensive line. Despite his size, Williams is not a dominant physical player, but he does excel at keeping the opposition off the quarterback.

He played in 36 games at Vanderbilt at left tackle and left guard, finishing his college career with 33 consecutive starts. He earned all-Southeastern Conference first team honors as a senior and allowed just two sacks over his final two years.</div>

I'm assuming he is expected to compete for RT first before eventually moving to LT?

Im sure he will be given the chance to win the LT job in camp if they think theres any chance he can do it, but he likely ends up on the right side for a while.....

If memory serves, Williams is more an athletic type LT in the mold of DeBrick Ferguson w/ the jets rather than a mauler i.e. Jake Long.
