The 6-6, 312-pound Williams, who was selected 14th overall, will not be placed on injured reserve and will remain eligible for the 53-man roster. Williams has been sidelined since the second practice of training camp on July 24. Nine-year veteran John St. Clair has been working at left tackle and started Thursday's preseason opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
