I'm not familar with the whole process, but I can't imagine unretiring would be very difficult. I know it's been awhile since Moss and Culpepper have played together, but I would think that it wouldn't take long for them to get it back together again.
The last time the Patriots lost their starting QB early in the season, an unknown backup emerged to lead them to a Super Bowl win. The Patriots can easily change their gameplan enough to remain competitive in games and win enough to make the playoffs. They have 3 very capable running backs to carry most of the workload, and Cassel will just have to manage the game. The defense is still solid enough to do that.
^ He doesn't have any experience, so that might hurt us, Culpepper on the other hand was an all star.
You could be fight, but hopefully Cassel works out for a while, at least until Brady comes back. The Jets game will be a big test.
Semantics. Right now, they need a starting QB. I'm not a huge Cassel guy, but he knows the system and should be given the job until he proves he doesn't deserve it. I don't want them to sign a guy like Culpepper just for the hell of it.
What a major, major loss. They can still be competitive, but this now opens up the AFC East for the Jets to contend with the Patriots. Leftwich? Culpepper? What a major loss.
Right I agree, but they should look into some other options. I don't care for Pep either, I'm just bringing up that he got offers before he retired. :]
