Triple teams constantly? Okay, unless my math skills have lapsed, the offense has the same amount of players as the defense. I doubt anyone can triple team Merriman constantly. Double teams a lot, I can buy, but not triple teams constantly. Further more, I think NFL coaches are pretty bright for the most part. They probably realized they needed to scheme for Merriman before he came off his roid rage. So, I'm not buying that the decline was because, after a year delay, NFL coaches finally realized he was a good player and decided to finally account for him. Merriman declined because he couldn't hulk up anymore.

Yeah. Now i finally see it. Steroids make no difference. Everyone does them, despite the fact that there isnt a significant difference. Finally teams dedicated 3 blockers to merriman on every play. the other 3 lineman took 3 blockers as well. Thus leaving the chargers with 7 defenders to cover 4 wrs on each play, thus meaning constant double teams on every teams 3 best wrs, and yet they still gave up sooooo many points.
