I was reading an article yesterday where Belicheat was quoted as saying "We have always taught our players that it is their responsibility to hit the quarterback above the knees and below the shoulders," This was his answer to whether or not he thought Pollard's hit on The Golden Child was dirty. I guess Bill needs to keep those guys healthy so they can hold a video camera...

I watched the game (along with the 1000+ replays of the hit) with Sunday ticket. I am not seeing how anyone could call that dirty. Sammy Morris was practically riding Pollard as he lunged to bring Brady down. Pollard was lying almost at Brady's feet and the QB is getting ready to throw a pass. He did what he was supposed to do. He tried to make a play.

Mostly, I feel bad for Pollard. He seems troubled that people are calling the play "dirty" and has apologized profusely for the mishap. He seems pretty remorseful that it happened.

It wasn't dirty, we've already went over this.

Who is "we"? This is my first post on the subject.

I just found it mildly ironic that Belicheat was making this comment. I thought if anyone wanted to let bygones be bygones...it would be him.

I would not have delved back into spy-gate if he hadn't been a hypocrite.

This was just the first time since game day that I have had time to peruse the forums. Certainly not trying to pour salt on old wounds.

You're assuming that since he didn't say it was a clean hit, that he thinks its dirty. All he said is what he tells his own players.

Also, I don't know what Spygate has to do with this. I know people are going to continue to bring it up for all of eternity whenever anybody mentions the man's name, but it has nothing to do with the hit or his comments.

Of course, Belicheat was saying it was dirty. Here is the conversation.

Question: After reviewing the play (of Tom Brady’s knee injury), do you think the play was dirty?

Belichick: "It doesn’t really matter what I think. The officials officate the game. I am sure they will handle it. We have always taught our players that it is their responsibility to hit the quarterback above the knees and below the shoulders."

Now, Belicheat doesn't have the guts to come right out and say it, but you have to be stupid not to see what he is saying. The reason Spygate keeps being brought up is because it's one clear example of Bill Belicheat not giving a crap about the rules. Like Nixon and Watergate, get used to Belicheat and Spygate. It will follow him to the grave. KARMA! (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Belichick, generally, doesn't give a clear cut answer to anything he is asked. It has been a complaint of the New England media ever since he came here.

Didn't Wilfork's hit last year go below the QB's knees?

He was falling down and landed on J.P. Losman's legs. I don't think he had much control of himself.

A moot complaint, at that. The guy doesn't owe them an explanation for anything.
