I was referring to being confrontational... obviously. You can call it civil, I call it annoying, confrontational, and just plain stupid.

C'Mon man, the guy and his partner "Blasted" me from the get go. If they would have just talked about the topic like we usually do, none of this would be happening.

Actually, I'm pretty sure most posters here are BBF refugees...heh

Bullshit? Heh, how about try to argue back, instead of flaming insults?

You seem to love calling me out. I came here to discuss things with people, not to be annoyed by some random kid.

It was incomplete analysis. After mentioning that the OP took that personally and this has really gone out of hand.

They disagreed with you civilly. Honestly, I think you totally flew off the handle. And, as you can see from my first posts, I agreed with you.

I agree with you. All is well, everyone agrees with everyone. That's exactly how a message board should be!

Are you for real? Incomplete analysis? I don't think he was trying to disect anything here. He wasn't doing indepth analysis. He posted some numbers and that's it. Did you want each centers bio for the last 50 years or what? If it's that important to you and you can't live without it, why not post it yourself?

Wow.. I'm talking about us arguing over nothing. How is that an insult to you? I said we should drop it, and yet you decide to continue this bs. You come in here, and bring your condescending attitude towards me, and try to play the innocent card when you started the bs. It's amazing, reading comprehension goes a long way. (Let me guess, you take personal offense to this too! Give me a freakin' break.)

I think you're still missing the purpose of the original post. It wasn't an analysis. It wasn't a prediction for what Oden will do. It was a display of what other great big men did in their rookie years to give people an idea of what great centers do in their first year.

The value of that is arguable. But all this "Your analysis is cherry-picked/incomplete" is not on-target.

    Hmm...

"I see some #1 picks that are missing from that list"

    and

"Then you are still missing some"

    That is "blasting" you?

    Really?

But it was only "some" other great big men. It only showed one player that averaged less than 20 PPG as a rookie. I find that to be a poor bar to measure Oden against.

Re: Big Time Centers Rookie #'s

The OP never mentioned Oden, never stated that these were the only good big men in the history of the game, and never mentioned that these are what we're measuring Oden against. Not to mention, he obviously chose to post these particular numbers because of the very fact that they are very good. Do you really need this explained to you? You are obviously reading waaay too much into the OP.

Hell no! We still need to settle the Ninja vs. Pirates debate.

Ninjas FTW! Ninjas have stealth, and pirates stink! Ninjas have extreme dexterity and body control, pirates have poor dental hygiene. And half the time, pirates only have 1 eye! I can't believe this can even be a debate!

Re: Big Time Centers Rookie #'s

Which other great centers would you have added?

I would say his choice of players were the four great centers of the last couple of decades and a current great one (though, I can't really see including Howard and not Yao).

Moses Malone would have been an interesting comparison, due to having been closer to Oden in terms of age and experience prior to the NBA.

Oh my God people! Can we get back on topic and talk about Vikings, pirates, and ninjas? Is that too much to ask?
