I was looking at the Nets' recent photo shoot, and I noticed this picture: And it made me think: Are the Nets suggesting he's currently our third best player? Or is it someone else from last season, or maybe even one of the guys we acquired?
Ah, good point. That could be it, too. Considering there isn't really a solid, consensus 3rd best player.
Based on what we saw in summer league, what we've heard about camp, and what this team needs most and therefore who will be most productive and complimentary on the floor, I would say Lopez. But it may very well turn out to be Ryan Anderson. If it's not one of those two, it will be one of Boone, Dooling, or Yi. Yi is very likely the most talented Net not named Carter or Harris from what I've seen. But the question marks about his competitiveness/assertiveness and inexperience make me reluctant to say he's third "best" right now.
I gotta go with Simmons. He is proven unlike Yi(who I do happen to like as a player) Not a fan of Boone tho he is decent, i just expected more from him coming out of UConn. Lopez and CDR could be but I havent seen them play enough so I will go with a healthy Simmons as our 3rd best player. I think he will be 3rd in scoring too..expecting 10-13 points a game
Yi could be more talented, in the future, than Harris is, for all we know. Athletic, seven footers, with skills and a jumper don't come very often.
close between boone and yi and simmons (if he is indeed back to clipper skill level). I like boone's rebounding, but Yi can run the floor and shoot. Simmons if hes back in pre bucks lvl wins by far. Thats pretty pitiful though... But for a rebuilding team in the east... i like their chances of going to the playoffs.
I unquestionably think he's third best based on what I know for sure. I haven't seen enough of Dooling to know whether I would put his overall value higher and I obviously don't know enough yet about Yi, Lopez, or Anderson. I suspect one of those last 3 will end up being the third best on the team by the end of the year. But at the beginning of the season, Boone is probably the guy.
That was actually the guy I was choosing between. I got real high on him last season. So impressed, that I actually ate crow in front of JBF, and don't even make me get into how tough that was. He's getting Magloire-minutes this year.
