Showtime Games of the Week (times are EST) #11 Ohio State @ Illinois (ESPN: 12:00PM) #25 South Carolina @ #4 Florida (ABC: 3:30PM) #16 North Carolina @ Maryland (ABC: 3:30PM) Boston College @ #19 Florida State (ABC: 8:00PM)
Woohoo! Iowa won again, moved to 7-4. Shonn Greene was a beast again today, 30 carries for 211 yards and two more TDs. This should lock Iowa in to a bowl game, and a win next week against Minny should put them in a New Years bowl. And if Shonn Greene isn't at least MENTIONED in the Heisman race....something is wrong.
Arkansas is playing State this week. I might go see it with one of my friends. I've only gone to one game outside of Memphis and that was in Oxford for the Memphis vs. Ole Miss game. The Mississippi State game this weekend will be my second.
LSU laid an egg today, that was unexpected. More unexpected was the trouncing that the Sooners gave Tech. Wow...just...wow. Last thing to note...Shonn Greene had yet another 100+ yard game. That would be his 12th straight this year, making him the only player in FBS to rush for 100+ yards in every game. He also threw in a couple more TDs too. His 140something yards also set an Iowa record for rush yards in a season, which he will extend upon in their bowl game. And I still question...why is his name not in the Heisman race? I know he won't win it...but christ, give the man some credit. He has thrown Iowa on his back and carried what is an otherwise mediocre team to an 8-4 record...and that record could easily be A LOT better seeing as how their 4 losses were by a combined 12 points. Shonn Greene = best RB in the nation and a player that SHOULD be in the Heisman talk.
Definably didn't expect Tech to get beat that badly. I would put Oklahoma over Texas in the polls now.
I still can't put Oklahoma over Texas in the polls. They LOST to them. I don't care how bad they beat Tech, they got beat by Texas, and I would that would be a little unfair for Texas.
I could put Tech over them since they beat them, but I think it's horsehshit that Oklahoma got the #2 spot. They freaking lost to the team that fell beneath them in Texas, I can't say that that's at all fair. I hope Mizzou fucking lights them up this weekend in the B12 title game.
You have three teams that beat each other, you could make a case for either one. Oklahoma is a good team, nope I'm not mad that they're in, just that a playoff system is much more logical.
