I really like Collison and I think he has a big year this year with Jrue Holiday and Shipp next to him. If Collison plays llike an All-American UCLA has another great shot at a Final Four.
Once again college basketball writers being biased to UNC players. The best PG in the country is A.J. Price, second Darren Collison, even though Antonio Anderson got him a new ass hole, and thrid Lawson.
Lawson is good, but as far as best PG's go I have to agree. I have always thought he was good but was overrated. He just isnt that consistent, but if he is going to step up as the best PG in the country this would be the year. UNC will go as far as Lawson takes them. They are talented and Hansbrought and Ellington are very good, but Lawson is the key to the whole vault for Carolina. When you run a fast paced offense point guard becomes even more important in college. Lawson has the speed and ability to create easy buckets every game for Carolina, but he has to stay consistent and play to his strengths.
Well notice how much worse UNC got while Lawson was injured. I still don't think he's the best, but I guess I can understand why the people who wrote this thought this way.
No way A.J. Price is the best PG in the country as of right now. He isn't top of the list until he shows me he's back from that ACL tear. It takes NBA players 1 year to 1 1/2 years to get healthy from these kind of injuries and he's trying to pull a Gilbert Arenas coming back this quick. I have to agree Tywon Lawson is probably the top PG because he's on the top team but the rest of the pack isn't all that far away from him. I think Collison would probably be 1b. next to Lawson with Dominic James and Stephen Curry the next 2 guys on the college level. James & Curry both have that ability where they can take over an college game and carry their team against big time teams while I haven't seen Price quite do that yet. Some guys I was surprised not to see on their list was Scottie Reynolds, Curtis Jerrells, Patty Mills or Byron Eaton, who are better than Downey, Rice, and probably even Pargo...hell I might even argue Grievis Vazquez or Eric Maynor are better than those 3 guys on that list.
I really cant believe Mills isnt on the list. In fact, im not sure there are many better PG prospects than Mills playing college basketball right now. He blew up last year and then had a huge summer in the Olympics. Ill take Mills as my PG over most of these guys, if not all of them.
Flynn has been amazing so far this season. I still have my eye on Patrick Mills though, because I think he has the tools to be one of the better PGs in the country. I would love to see St. Mary's get an NCAA bid, because I want to see him play on the big stage. Just a note, St. Mary's plays @ Oregon on the 17th and it wouldnt schock me to see Mills take over and down the Ducks.
