Abou Diaby Thursday, August 21, 2008 Abou has a thigh injury and is likely to be sidelined for another couple of weeks. Mikael Silvestre and Gael Clichy have been declared fit to play against Hull Samir Nasri Wednessday, September 26, 2008 Arsène Wenger has confirmed his side will be without Samir Nasri against Hull on Saturday after the 21-year-old failed to recover from his knee problem. The Frenchman picked up the injury whilst on international duty earlier this month and remains on the sidelines Abou Diaby Wednesday, September 24, 2008 Abou still has a thigh injury and so missed the trip to Bolton. "For Diaby, I would say two more weeks [until he is fit]," said Wenger on September 18. Tomas Rosicky Wednesday, September 24, 2008 Wenger predicted a September return for Rosicky as recently as last month but the rare nature of the Czech's injury has forced the Frenchman to revise his expectations again. "He is not close to playing again and he has not had any real setback, but the evolution [of his injury] is very slow," said Wenger on September 18. "The recovery process is slower than we expected at the start. It doesn't look worrying but the delay is longer than expected. He had a re-attached tendon that was loose in his hamstring, and that demands a lot of time to re-coordinate the movements of the hamstring. That makes it very difficult to predict exactly one week more or less how much time it will take. But I am optimistic that before Christmas you will see him in a good shape." Eduardo Wednesday, September 24, 2008 The striker is continuing his recovery from a fractured leg and could be back in November. "He is still very much on course and he could be a very good surprise because he is a little ahead of schedule," revealed Wenger on September 18.
Abou Diaby has been declared fit to play against Everton on Saturday. Johan Djourou Friday, October 17, 2008 Johan Djourou will not play against Everton after suffering concussion while on international duty with Switzerland.. William Gallas Friday, October 17, 2008 William Gallas will miss the games against Everton and Fenerbahce after picking up a hamstring injury while on international duty with France. Bacary Sagna Friday, October 17, 2008 Bacary Sagna will miss the games against Everton and Fenerbahce after picking up a knee injury while on international duty with France. Nicklas Bendtner Friday, October 17, 2008 Nicklas Bendtner will miss the games against Everton and Fenerbahce after picking up an ankle injury while on international duty with Denmark. Tomas Rosicky Friday, October 17, 2008 Wenger hopes to have his Czech midfielder back before the New Year. Speaking on October 2 he said: "I monitor Rosicky's progress very closely but at the moment it is very difficult to put a date on his comeback. We are not pessimistic about the future of his career but we still need more patience. If he comes back before Christmas we have done very well but I think we can achieve that, that in December he can play again." Eduardo Friday, October 17, 2008 The striker is continuing his recovery from a fractured leg. Speaking on October 2, Wenger said: "Eduardo is doing very well but is not close to play. Eduardo will be OK before Christmas, of course."
After the Everton game, Kolo Toure (Twisted Shoulder Ligament) and Samir Nasri (Knee Problem) are both questionable for the game against Fenerbache. More to follow.
20th October 2008 Kolo Toure (Damaged shoulder ligaments) has been ruled out of the game against Fenerbache. William Gallas (hamstring), and Bacary Sagna (knee) will also be missing the match. Johan Djourou and Nicklas Bendtner have both been declared fit for the Champions League fixture. Samir Nasri received a small knock against Everton, but he has been cleared to play.
William Gallas and Kolo Toure have both been declared fit for the West Ham clash this weekend. Bacary Sagna (knee) still needs to recover, but he will be fit for the Spurs game next week. I am also pleased to report that Eduardo da Silva will be playing competitive football in three weeks time. Tomas Rosicky (hamstring) is still out, and will hopefully return after Christmas. Interesting thing to note: Rosicky has been out with a hamstring problem since January 08, which is longer than Eduardo's open leg fracture (Feb)! Arsenal did not suffer any injuries during their 5-2 win against Fenerbache.
Emmanuel Adebayor will be out for three weeks due to a twisted ankel. Theo Walcott will also miss the Fenerbache game due to a shoulder injury picked up against Stoke. He should only be out for one game. William Gallas is still unfit. He picked up a hamstring problem against Tottenham. Eboue (knee), Rosicky (hamstring), and Eduardo (leg) are still injured. We do welcome back Sagna for the Fenerbache game, so there is some good news. Gallas and Walcott will return of the crucial game against Manchester United.
Arsenal are proud to announce that Eduardo has made his swift recovery after 10 months of inactivity. He played 45 minutes in a reserve fixture against Portsmouth. According to Wenger, the only thing Eduardo is lacking is match fitness. He should be back in the first team in a few weeks. On a bad note, Samir Nasri picked up an ankle injury against the one-nil result over Wigan. He will be out of action for two to three weeks. Rosicky has had yet another set-back with this abnormal hamstring injury. He will be back in March at the earliest. Walcott is recovering from his dislocated well, and there are no signs of permanent damage. He will be out for another two months. Toure is doubtful for the clash against Liverpool, but he is not out of contention yet.
You never know. It's a serious injury, but younger players have an easier time returning from big injuries.
Cesc Fabregas will be out for up to four months after rupturing his knee ligaments against Liverpool, yesterday. Bendtner also picked up a small knock in training, and may not be fit for the Aston Villa game. Rosicky and Walcott are still out for at least three months. Eduardo still needs match practice.
Yeah, it sucks. But, Wenger said he's 90% sure he's going to be purchasing a name this transfer window.
William Gallas has been sidelined with a hamstring injury. He will miss the Bolton game, and will be out of action for up to three weeks. Mikael Silvestre limped off against Plymouth and will also be out for up to three weeks. All the other long-term injuries are making good progress on their recoveries. Walcott is expected to be back the earliest in mid-February. Eduardo still lacks match fitness.
