ummmmm if the playoffs from last year show anything the Mavs are done. Also The Lakers Hornets Spurs Nuggets are better. It's funny Kidd has to deal with Chauncey in the west now

I meant that Harris wasn't going to give the Mavs a championship.

Not really. No one expected Harris to play as well as he has. He was brought in to possibly become the Nets future point guard.

    Kidd salary $21mm
    Harris salary $7mm

Which player do you need to bring you home the championship and which player affords you the luxury of adding additional players that can help you win a championship?

Like I said, no one expected Harris to play the way he has. He's cheap, and much more effective now. Devin has freedom in NJ, something that would've never happened in Dallas. Chances are that if he didn't get traded for Kidd, he would have been dealt for someone else, eventually. He's a definite steal.

you do know they will have to win against the Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, Nuggets right and then if they make it to the finals the Celtics which I don't see them doing at all

As big a Kidd fan as I am, I have think Dallas misses Harris. With Harris this team is top 5, possibly even challenging the Lakers. Would Avery be gone? That's my biggest concern if Harris had stayed. With the way Terry is playing and combine that with Dirk, taking the leash off Devin, that's 4 prime time scorers. Right now the Mavs are starting Kidd-JHo-George, Dirk and Damp. 3 players with NO offensive game. Thus the slow starts in the last 2 games. 1st quarter they've been outscored 60-36. You throw Harris in there, that's a 3rd scorer and creates more balance. Then JET off the bench as the 6th man, defenses would go bonkers trying to stop the Mavs, with Harris, Jet, JHo and Dirk. The Mavs would be a 60 win team with Harris unshackled. They were headed there early last season until his ankle injury. They miss him and better regret doing the deal.

couldn't agree with you more he was great and I still love him and hope we do one day hang his Jersey, but I hate player who complain and ask to be traded so I have a little hate for him, not a lot but a little. I mean how much does he make, I say if players ask to be traded and make it public they shouldn't make money anymore

they panic what do you except. They have mark cuban as a owner so you know they are a stupid team. I'm a Kidd fan too, but I can't stand the mavs all the fans complain or most of them anyway. I hope they lose this year and Kidd wants to win and goes somewhere else so I can root for him

...haha well rules out the Lakers, maybe Portland?? Can't see him playing for GSW. I doubt he'll go east again, then again a one year deal with the Knicks running D'Antoni's system...pre Lebron?

i really don't count last year because Kidd had what a month and a half to blend with his team , and a controlling coach who btw is no longer coaching in this league. Plus: Dirk has said many times this year he is having much more fun playing with Jason Kidd. Remember Kidd makes everybody he plays with better and have career years, when he's happy. Last year he wasn't happy with the nets...

yeah, but with the nba it's not like you can't count the games last year Lakers got Gasol and went on, suns got shaq and went on I don't hear much from those fans saying not to count last year, so same should go for mavs, got to count last year

big difference from a center to a court general. And you can not count it, who says you can't. If you trade someone who plays an important part at pt guard chemistry must be established. And, to compound matters worse he had a retard as a coach. I mean ive watched Avery Johnson play point guard, and i've seen Jason Kidd play point guard. Which one do you think is going to the hall of fame?

This year counts in my book, not the year that was a month or so to blend in with the new team. Thats not fair! I mean just look at the difference between Devin Harris when he first got to the nets, and Devin Harris this year. Having a full off season and preseason help more than alot. To discount that is crazy....

    oh yeah, go nets!!!

it's just a difference in opinion you can not count it if you want, but I count it. Because all games count in the nba you can't minus games. you don't have to count last season because it is over and they just sucked at the end of it, that's what I think. I mean it's really kind of stupid to count it or not count it since it is over and done with, this year as of right now they are good but deff not a great team

and yes GO NETS BEAT THE MAVERICKS!

Why do you think Dirk and Terry are playing so well this season?

It might have something to do with their floor general.
