What do you mean so what? Your star player refuses to give it his all night in and night out? And it's "so what?". I see a massive issue here if he doesn't want to do this. If he isn't ready to play every night, he should be on the sidelines.

What I meant is, he isn't as critical to Houston as many people think. Houston has Yao, Battier, Artest, Alston, Brooks, and company to support the team in the absence of T-Mac.

T-Mac doesn't have as big an impact on the Rockets as Yao, so his absence will only be filled by Brooks or Artest off the bench; I would rather see Artest and Battier as opposed to T-Mac and Battier. Artest plays better defence and spreads the floor better with 3's.

Of course, that would mean some of the Rockets players would have to play more minutes, but that's what the bench is for.

as much as I dislike McLady, when at full strength and when playing with heart (which is rare), he changes the entire dynamic of this team.........

I saw it in Orlando on a regular basis.... he's a great player but really doesn't have the passion to elevate his team. It seems as if a hang nail will send him to the bench.

McGrady is only averaging 16/4/4 and shooting a ghastly .397 from the field. Granted, he's been playing injured, but no doubt he has sunk to new lows.

Is he officially not a star in the league anymore?
