    What do you think?

LeBron and Marion is a pretty nice combo. But at the same time, the Cavs have been fantastic this year, do they really want to shake things up?

LeBron gets another athletic running-mate who can defend the perimeter and the frontcourt. He is averaging only 12 points, but he will be a viable scorer when necessary. He also expires after the season, so it's a low-risk proposition. The only possible flaw I can see in the deal is if it disrupts chemistry for the Cavs.

I know the Heat are lacking size, but I don't think trading Marion for Varejao is the way to go.

I think the cavs should do it. I think they would want another big though.

I wouldn't do it...........I think the Cavs lose some of their physical attitude on the inside....I've always liked A.V. and while Marion is good in the open court he is very mediocre in the half court.......I'd stay away if I was cleveland.........

How could the Cavs not do this???

Varejao and Sczerbiak are role players on the team and nothing more... The guys who have done most of the work are the starting 5 (Mo, LBJ, Z, Big Ben, West)... The Cavs will only get stronger with Marion.

    The lineup will look like:

    Mo
    West
    LBJ
Marion (Younger better version of Big Ben)
    Z

    Off the bench:
Big Ben (their Turiaf type player that injects energy)
    Gibson

Can i say Cleveland - Lakers NBA finals? (Lakers in 4 :smiley-whistle:)

    I say don't do it.

They are among the elite teams in the NBA and have great chemistry... therefore there's no real need to shake things up. If they were struggling, I would say it would be a different story.

But why ruin a good thing?

I agree, at this point in time, there is no need to take risks if you're the Cavaliers.

It doesn't look like an amazing trade to me for the Cavaliers. I think they can get a better deal.

I see the story is from 12/16 and I found this blog entry from the same day by Windhorst saying that the Marion trade rumor was untrue.

Now let's see what will happen.

I think anyone that says Varejao is merely a role player for the Cavs is yet to actually watch a Cavs game. In games where he has started over Ilgauskas, he averages 14 points and 8.5 rebounds on 66% field goal shooting. He has 4 double-doubles for the year (3 of which are off the bench) and he provides energy, hustle and many intangibles when he is on the floor. I think Varejao will become the starting center for the Cavs once Ilgauskas winds his career down, and his payday at the end of this season will probably reflect those intentions. IMO I quite possible wouldn't even trade Varejao for Marion straight up, I like Varejao that much. This is without even going into the potential chemistry issues.

It seems now that the Cavs are looking less and less likely to even trade Wally's contract, for fears of losing the incredible chemistry they have. So, barring a ridiculous deal, I wouldn't be surprised if Wally stays in Cleveland. Furthermore, I've heard through the grapevine that, if Wally is traded, he will want to pull a McDyess and stay in Cleveland anyway.

i would be looking for a player with a longer contract than marions, unless you are keen on overpaying him this summer.

watch out for kidd/iverson to the cavs this offseason for the mle.
