Most big men shoot a higher percentage because most of the shots they take are from inside the paint. Yi rarely gets opportunities inside of 18ft....
Epic because it's true. You gave credit to the biggest loser team in history of NBA. When I look up epic fail: the photo of Durant comes up.
Canadians don't support Bosh. why should we? Craptors suck! You are a joke man, don't bring up Bosh, name a real star please. VC shaat all over Bosh.
Yeah it's his fault his team sucks. Yeah, Durant single handidly moved the team out of Seattle. If the Sonics didn't draft Durant they would still be an NBA franchise. You Yi ass kissers get more retarded by the day.
This post is a great read. Yi will be a decent player and will probably be an all-star (thank you China) when its all said and done. Also, when Josh Howard is back, dare I say the Mavericks have a 20ppg 3rd option?
Except Howard won't be a 3rd option. He'll be the Mavs 2nd option with Terry moving to 3rd. While all three, Dirk, Howard and Terry have a good chance to average 20+ppg, I see Terry's number dropping below 20 when Howard comes back.
Dude give it up. What most people are saying about Yi is actually correct. ie He hasn't played great, isn't consistent enough, doesn't deserve to be an all star etc. Two good games in a row isn't going to change anybody's opinion. Not even mine and I do support the guy. However the logic these fans are using to diss Yi is fanciful at best. Especially those who claim they KNOW more about the game of basketball but yet claims Yi has only played 5 good games. Luckily for Yi and about 90% of basketball players in the NBA, none of these 'EXPERT' will ever get close to applying their wealth of basketball knowledge in the NBA.
Fair enough. This forum is dead. Anyway some fans just don't understand the notion of being a role player. The other team I follow closely is the Rockets. Liu Scola is the Rockets starting power forward and is averaging 11/8, which is a little bit better than Yi's. However looking through his stats and he is only slightly more consistent than Yi. He had a 18/17 game against the Sixers and followed that with 0/2 game against the Celtics. I don't think I have ever bash Scola on any Rockets or Yao board EVER. Why? The guy is a role player. When he gives you 18/17, you take it as a bonus. My criticism for the Rockets is usually reserve for the stars Yao and T-Mac and to a lesser extend Artest. Those are the guys the team depend on for wins and losses. The roles players are there to support the stars, occasionally they'll give you a big game but they can't be relied upon to put up big numbers every night. Anyway, time to quit this board for a while and go catch a few waves instead.
I'm watching the Knicks/Mavs game. Wanted to cruise the forums and joke around. Reading the RealGM vote for Yi thread, that's so funny. I copied some of the jokes there.
Give me a break...Yi's been pretty much bashed the moment he became a net. He's been called every name in the book on this board this season. Yes he has had some awful games and yes there are some nights where he looks completely lost out there. However, the reason Im defending him, is because people need to realize he's still very young only a second year player who just came to this country and basically had to learn a whole new style of ball he's not used to playing, not to mention a whole new language and culture. You have to give him time to develop. Some fans on this board were already dismissing him as a bust or scrub after half a season as a net not even giving him a real chance to settle into the offense and learn his niche. But in the last two games, even though they were against bad teams, he showed not only that he's got the skill set to play in this league but that he also has intangibles like heart and work ethic. This kid runs up and down the court on every play harder than anyone else on the team, its just a matter of channeling his enthusiasm into smart, efficient basketball. Just wait, as soon as he gets his confidence up and develops some swagger I have no doubt he's going to be a solid pro.
When I said he only had two good games, I meant two good games in a row. A thread wasn't created asking where the Yi bashers were after he had a single good game because everybody said he was inconsistent. I would imagine him having two games in a row would erase the label inconsistent and that's why the thread was created. I'm not sure if I said that right. I didn't mean to make it seem as if 20 points was the only way Yi would be good. When I say Yi hasn't had many good games, it's not because he didn't score 20 or more in other games, it's because of the way he played. Things I mentioned before, like shooting percentage or whether or not he's getting hard rebounds or playing good D. It just so happens he has scored X amount of points in the game. I don't expect Yi to average 20 points a game, especially when he's not even the third option. But I expect him to make good decisions out there, and so far he has a lot of ground to make up. Maybe it's just because we gave up one of our franchise guys. Maybe that's why he gets all this flack.
I'm going to say it here first. Tomorrow night vs Milwaukee, Yi will get 2 quick fouls and sit on the bench for the half. That's how I'm seeing it.
