That team would still have the same problems that this bulls team would have, namely that it would struggle against teams with two scoring guards. You'd still have to hide BG whenever you could.

And you can't blame BG's recent bad performances on playing with younger guys. He's missing shots and still occasionally forcing bad ones, like at the end of the game yesterday. He's a fifth year guy, he should bring more than that. He's not a rookie anymore, he should be making better choices than that. These aren't one game aberrations.

^ Not only better choices but some sign of consistency, he also is the anti clutch, which was proven last year. I think Jannero Pargo made more GW baskets for us then Gordon has in all the years scrubbing it up for the Bulls. Get a REAL center who can play the middle like its supposed to be and maybe a shooting guard that isn't overpaid and takes high percentage shots and this team could be solid. Thomas has been playing well as of late and brings energy, just get some meat on those bones and gain alittle power and he could be a solid player.

There is no way that Pargo has more game winners than Gordon.

Gordon was one of the league leaders in game winners, with a high percentage his first two seasons ( http://www.82games.com/random12.htm ).

The problem we had, was our end game evolved into just Gordon. Other teams knew that, and had their entire offense focused on Gordon, so he was completely dogged by his man. Had a help perimeter defender right there a lot of times. Then the bigs would be waiting for him if he were to drive.

With Rose on board, as we establish Rose for these big shots, I think Gordon will start making some more as long as Rose is unselfish. Case in point the Knicks game ( http://dabullz.com/2009/01/20/a-look-at-derrick-roses-late-game-selfishness/ ).

And Gordon has been great in fourth quarters as a whole over the years. Just not on game winning/tying shots the past 2 years. Gordon's been good in fourth quarters this year as well. He was even top 5 in points scored in the clutch last season. His shooting % left a little too be desired, but still far and away better than everyone else in the clutch on the Bulls.

He's passively helping the team, even in a shooting slump, because teams do double team him meaning less pressure on the other 4. Simply because he is a threat to go off for 10 or even 20 points in a quarter.

Regardless of cherry picking a bad game here or there from him, his season stats take all that into consideration. 20 PPG in spite of all the bad games you point out. 44.7% FG and 41% from 3pt in spite of that, too. 3.7 APG doesn't hurt the team at all.
