Jim Callis of Baseball America rates his NL prospects

    1. Pedro Alvarez, 3b, Pirates

Spring injury, summer holdout overshadow his devastating hitting ability.
    2. Madison Bumgarner, lhp, Giants
Showed much more polish than expected in first full season, led minors with 1.46 ERA.
    3. Colby Rasmus, of, Cardinals
The best player developed by St. Louis since Albert Pujols is ready for the majors at 22.
    4. Buster Posey, c, Giants
Has the tools to become the NL's version of Joe Mauer.

not to mention tim alderson, conner gilespie, and youngins angel villalona and rafael rodriguez(16yo).

im am excited about the future for once!

keith law for espn has them ranked 6th and 8th respectively, in all of MLB

Personally speaking I have the most hope for Buster, I think the Mauer comparison is spot on and would be awesome.

Exciting times. A year ago us G's fans had no hope in the farm system. Now the future looks bright. I doubt any of those prospects make the big club this season but I guess I can't complain too much watching Lincecum and Sandoval. Maybe Cain will get some godamn run support this year?
