As I said in the other thread, Carter only gets traded to the Bulls if Deng was already traded in some other deal (I'd assume for Stoudemire). No way the Nets get Ben Gordon. No chance he would waive his no trade clause.

For the Spurs, it would have to be something like Bowen, Thomas, and Mason Jr. for Carter. It'd have to be a 3 for 1, because the Nets don't have any players on the league minimum that they can use the mininum salary trade exception for.

I don't think he's going to any of the 4 teams. I don't think he's getting traded at all.

I do. He is 32 years old, and will be 34 to start off the 2010-2011 season. He has no place with the future of the Nets, and if they get rid of him, they can free themselves of some 2010 obligations.

    Who really wants him?

    San Antonio makes no sense.
    Toronto isn't doing anything.
    Cleveland doesn't need him.
There isn't a realistic match with Chicago.
    Miami doesn't need him.
    Dallas doesn't need him.

Who's going to take this guy on? You just listed all his beautiful credentials, like his age and the shitload of money he's offered through 2011.

Utah and Jerry Sloan has always seemed like a good match to me

I don't see anyway the Nets deal him to Cleveland as that would increase the chances of Lebron resigning w/ the Cavs.

San Antonio is the obvious best destination. Not sure if the contracts / CBA can be worked out.

San Antonio would be crazy to take him.

They're playing the 36 year old Michael Finley 28 MPG. Vince would be a HUUUUGE upgrade for them, and they're basically in the ultimate win-now situation.

They have both Manu and Bruce Bowen coming off the bench. SG/SF is not a spot of need for them.

    Vince will ruin the Spurs.

well nets fans i hope after tonights game with the magic make you rethink what it be like without vc.

Especially if your thinking of trading him for a bunch of role players and trade fodder. The nets would only trade him for high first round draft picks or young prospects that are really good. He still does have value.

As much value as a 32 year old two-guard under contract for three more years can have.

who is also the leading scorer on this team and team leader. You can be a star in this league until your 37 or 38 especially if you have god given talent that still makes you head and shoulders above most nba players at 32. I've seen no indication of VC slowing down this year from last year, and in fact because he is injury free ( ankles) he is playing at even a higher level than last year.

The Spurs would have to dismantle their roster to acquire Vince or get a third team with cap space involved to pull a 3-way deal off. I think Memphis is the only team left with cap space at just under $7M.

This deal worked using ESPN trade machine.

    Nets Incoming

Roger Mason Jr. & Hakim Warrick & Jacques Vaughn

    Nets Outgoing

    Vince Carter

    Memphis Incoming

    Bruce Bowen & Kurt Thomas

    Memphis Outgoing

    Hakim Warrick

    Spurs Incoming

    Vince Carter

    Spurs Outgoing

    Bowen, Mason, Thomas, Vaughn

Assuming the Grizzlies also agree to waive Bowen and Thomas so they can re-sign with the Spurs after 30 days.

I think the Nets can do a lot better even if it means dealing Vince to an Eastern Conference team.

Actually I was wrong about the Spurs having to dismantle the roster. They can actually sign Robert Horry for the difference, similar to the way the Nets used Keith Van Horn to acquire Devin Harris.
