Link After last night they are 32-16 and need to go 8-3 to accomplish the 40 wins before 20 losses for the first time in Nuggets NBA history. I think it's possible.
Well Mr. George Karl, here is a Denver team that no doubt had a higher IQ than your team: They Were 8th Seed and Beat the 1st Seed Supersonics Because, for one Thing, They Had a High IQ, Higher than the Sonics, Who You Were the Coach of, Laugh Out Loud It's more and more turning my stomach to see how Karl and Carmelo Anthony have become two peas in a pod with respect to glorifying the regular season and not saying (or doing) much of anything about the playoffs. Especially since Super Bowl unofficial winner Larry Fitzgerald recently accurately observed that in sports the regular season does not mean jack if you are truly a great athlete or coach. It doesn't amount to a hill of beans, or a bag of chips if you prefer. Regular season statistics including how many wins and how many losses are just footnotes in the media guide, to borrow the words of Fitz. As for the Nuggets in general these days, as shown so well by this article, I'll let a picture do the talking:
With 35-17, now the Nuggets need 5-2. It is still feasable, but it's not that easy. Their next 7 games are: 11 at Orl 18 at Phi 20 at Chi 22 at Mil 23 vs Bos 25 vs Atl 27 vs LAL 4 away games in sequence and 3 very difficult games against Celtics, Hawks and Lakers.
36-17 already! hopefully, they'll play strong enough to reach that goal. Nice short term goal for them, they would get a big confidence boost from this if they are able to do it. Hopefully, they're main goal is still the championship and not just winning more games than they ever did before.
20th loss man.. What the hell is happening to Denver? They are once again showing how inconsistent they play and I am starting to lose faith in their quest for a 2nd round playoff this year.
