HAHA, any way that this actually makes sense? 1. Trade Bosh + Kapono (or Calderon) for A. Mayo and/or Gay and/or Gasol + ending deals or cap space B. Durant, Watson + whoever else C. Eric Gordon + Camby + 2009 pick D. Al Horford + cap relief 2. Let Marion and Parker walk 3. suck next year, pick up another lottery pick in 2010 Bargnani Humphries Graham Delfino Banks, Ukic + 1-2 2009 1st picks + 1 2010 1st pick + maybe Calderon + Durant, Gordon, Mayo, or Horford + enough cap space to sign Bosh and Joe Johnson in 2010 + possibility of trading 2-3 lotto picks for 3rd or 4th star
You MIGHT get Gordon out of the Clippers... no way their teams trade Durant/Gay/Mayo/Horford for Bosh.
there's NO WAY you'll get Durant. None whatsoever. unless OKC was receiving Dwight or Lebron. Perhaps Gay, but highly doubt Mayo. Everyone else is within reason.
I'd honestly hate to be in the position of team's like New York or Detroit, who are betting a whole lot on something that's been very rare in the salary cap era (a superstar leaving his team through free agency). Its just too unpredictable of a plan, IMO. If you want to keep Bosh, then I think you have to do it the conventional way. Surround him with actual talent and convince him that he can win here. I thought Colangelo put it nicely when he said that everyone's gearing up to desperately try and pry elite players away in 2010, while we're in the fortunate position of already having one of those players. The focus now should be on not screwing that over.
Well NY has little choice. They haven't really been in a position to add a franchise player the last few seasons. But yeah, I'm pro keeping Bosh. If he does want out though, I really hope we trade him sooner than later though.
This summer has to be the time to make that decision, right? Colangelo needs to feel the situation out and act on it decisively. His intuition for the next few months will really impact this team for 2010+. That's a scary or encouraging thought depending on what you think of him.
That's definitely a fairly tail story which will definitely not happen. I think if we do trade Bosh it will have to be a sign-and trade, because no team will want to lose young pieces for the chance to losing Bosh. Like Chutney said this off season will determine if Bosh stays or leaves. If he can put a good product on display come 2010 I strongly beleive he'll stay put. We can offer him the most money out of any team...which to me doesn't really matter because all he wants to do is contend.
Im sorry but I hate Bosh, his NOT GOOD! He wont bring Toronto a championship! Yes his decent but so is marc gasol, if he is the franchise player then he better back it up like his role model KG (he took T-wolves to the top). IMO Bosh is just a role player. At the start of the season he was playing very well but ever since the second month he hasnt been the same. So i rather raps trade him next year when they can get some value in return. Draft picks young talent sort of like what T-wolves did
At the very least the Knicks have a ton of cap space. At best they have LeBron. I don't see what's so bad about being in such a position.
How can you be so certain, when: (a) FA's almost give up the extra $ to leave their team (b) the Knicks will trying to convince him they build what he already had in Cleveland (c) the economic climate is working against substantial player movement. I think there's a really big chance that the primary targets re-up and you're stuck overpaying for a lower-tier superstar (maybe Bosh, idunno).
