17 points, 12 Boards, One Steal in a starting role for the heat. Marcus banks, the guy who we traded for who happens to make 5 times more money than moon has been relegated to towel waving in Toronto.

Meh, Moon is probably a big reason why the Heat actually made the trade. While there was always a good chance he would put up nice numbers in Miami, I don't think we were going to see them in Toronto. They knew that they had a chance to increase their production, and that's why they took on JO's salary. For his salary, he's a huge bargain, but I didn't want to re-sign him anyways.

i wasnt too big on resigning him as well but banks makes 5 times more than he does for doing nothing more than cheer on chris bosh. i personally rather have her: http://www.nba.com/allstar2007/dance/tor_b.html cheer me on plus shes a lot cheaper

I have no regrets about trading Moon. The dude is not a starter unless he significantly overhauls his attitude and offseason work habits. That clearly wasn't going to happen here, so it was right to deal him.

I'm pissed that we took back Banks and gave up a first rounder. If the Heat truly wanted Jamario and didn't just consider him a filler, then I don't understand how we had to concede so much. It should've been one or the other.

My bad on not picking up on it.

I'm not exactly sure to tell you the truth. Triano's been a failure as a coach, but one thing I'll give him credit for is being less closeminded than Smitch when comes to the entirety of his roster (Joey Graham, Roko Ukic, Andrea Bargnani). There's been a couple games where either Calderon or Roko has been ineffective and I thought Banks would be worth a look. Maybe Friday night's game might be a sign of increased P/T for him?

    Who wouldn't?!

But don't you think the Heat's primary reason for dealing Marion for JO was to clear more cap for 2010 when they can go after Amar'e or Bosh? When all players are healthy, the Heat basically made a sideways move that balances their roster a bit more nicely. Without getting the 2010 flexibility it just wouldn't have made sense to make such a gamble for JO. I don't get your beef. Unless you wanted to trade JO to the Cavs (who might not have wanted to trade for JO anyways), we weren't going to clear more cap and/or get a better player than Marion w/out taking on Banks.

It's a tough decision for the coach. Both Banks and Ukic are going to be here another few seasons, and they're not both going to be able to get minutes. You either play Banks and trade Ukic or let Ukic develop and let Banks rot on the bench. Neither is a favorable option. There's also the question that was asked at the beginning of the season... was Ukic promised minutes to sign with the Raps?

its not the tradeoff u imagine- banks can play off the ball so banks and ukic can play together.

Yeah, I actually wouldn't mind seeing that. I guess I'm just hoping our 2 guard rotation is stronger next season and that I just can't see Ukic/Banks getting 2 guard minutes over Parker or Kapono.

Wade is carrying moon. He's the type of guy that can slash and create, especially alley oops and easy dunks. We never had that, but thats the reason Moon looks decent in Miami. Easy baskets

Moon wasn't playing the way we needed him to play so it really doesn't matter what he does now that he's gone. One man's garbage is another man's gold.
