Not a bad signing. Let's see what he's got, because he's sure to find minutes. That part was stupid, though.
So is this guy a PF? SF? tweener? hope hes not a pape sow kinda guy where he drops 26 a night in the NBDL but completely suck ass in the NBA.
Honestly, that's the exact vibe I get from this signing. Hopefully its not. I think he's a PF with long arms and athleticism. The encouraging thing is that he's got a more impressive resume than Pape ever did. He's been productive in international play and the D-league, and teams have been interested in his development all the while.
He's a PF for sure. He has no ball skills so you won't see him on the wing. He is a pure hustle player: runs, rebounds, blocks shots, and dunks. Something like The Birdman. He's essentially what we were hoping Pape Sow would become, but even that isn't saying much.
Pops will develop a nice mid range game 5-8 feet. He'll get a bit more handles and if Bosh learns to play with him, we could have a very nice front court.
I'm ready for that. I think he'll try and dunk every play and give us a quality player off the bench. BC needs to keep him around.
Doubt it. He'll be like everyone else. He'll be the lone guy getting busted up in the paint every night and eventually he'll start to pull away from the rim, like Moon, Hump, etc., like "fuck it, why should I be the only one?"
He was playing very well in the Euroleague and Spain for Joventut (Rubio's team) before leaving for the US...don't exactly remember why, I think he just delayed his return from the US to Spain from a vacation so his team released him...he was doing really well though. http://www.keyhoops.com/asp.net/main.players/card.aspx?player=33560&mode=games&season=66
Great pickup. I hope he sticks next year. Pops is exactly the kind of energy+skill Toronto needs in a bigman off the bench. He's like a more athletic Hump in the energy aspect but won't try to do more than he's capable like Kris would. Very nice.
