This entire thread just proved how sheepish some people in the thread are, regardless of reputation. Fixed your statement for you, smart one.
Where are all these Asians in power? Seriously, I would like to know. At least where I grew up, in Wisconsin, almost all of the owners of the successful businesses are white. Then of course there are Asian owners for things like Chinese restaurants, and a lot of Indiana/Middle Eastern people own the gas stations. But at least where I grew up, this idea of Asians being the power structure of America simply didn't exist. All of the Asians I knew from high school were nothing like AhLian, except one. There was one who was really smart. His parents probably had Ivy League expectations for him (when he got a B in a subject, they told him he failed at being Asian). But he was one of the nicest people you could ever know. I did know one Asian girl who was a crazy spaz, who just wanted to go to college on the West Coast because she had family there. A Vietnamese girl who was similar to the first Chinese guy I was talking about who was super nice. Then there was the crazy Mongolian guy, who ended up going back to Mongolia. Then there was the one Chinese girl who thought she was better than everyone else. She really didn't have any friends and wasn't liked by anyone. She was #2 in our class for the longest time, but fell to like #5 on the final report card, because she got a B+ in Calculus because she got a C on the final (that was her only non A of high school), and people celebrated that. She actually did research and cured some disease. Right now, she's in a very respectable state university, but she wasn't good enough to get into the Ivy League. What was her problem? She came to America and had the attitude, "I'm better because I'm from China", we're smarter, more cultured, etc. than you Americans. If you do that, what will Americans begin thinking? If you're country is so much better, then get the hell out of America and go back there. AhLian for example, is Canadian. He talks about how uneducated Americans are, but he wants to come to one of our universities.... High school success does not predicate later success in life. School is relatively easy. I can get A's in almost every course in my university, as long as I've done the necessary pre-requisites before taking that course. There isn't anything hard about that. If you just do your work and study, you can usually do pretty well in school. The people who don't do well, usually don't do the proper studying, reading, work. That's not to say there is an equal footing. Those who do well in school are obviously at a much, much, much greater advantage than those who don't (with some exceptions like musicians and sports players). But if you go around being a dick to everyone you meet, there is a good chance you could throw away that great advantage that you have because no one will want to work with you.
Wow, I can't believe I just read this whole thread. I have a large dislike for AhLian now though. He's probably one of those guys that sits in your classes by himself staring at hot chicks and creeping them out. AhLian = FAIL
