Who are some top candidates for this award? Devin Harris? Nate Robinson?

Danny Granger, Devin Harris, Nate Rob. Down list could include Andrea.

Devin Harris already has this award on lock basically, but Nate Robinson is the dark horse candidate.

    Follow this simple formula.

    1) Compare points per game last season to points per game this season.
    2) Eliminate all second year players unless they played sparingly last season and/or were a second round pick.

    Thus, Devin Harris will win.

harris is prolly gonna win. 20+pt scorer w/ 6asts a game. robinson is benefitting a lot by their new coach forgot his name but even w/ that nate is a baller he's near all star caliber now. might be an all star they way he keeps improving.

The Knicks coach is Mike D'Antoni.

Nate will never be an All Star. The East is loaded with guards and he'll never sniff an All Star spot unless he's dropping 25+ppg.

I think Devin Harris is going to run away with this. He's putting up ridiculous numbers this year and has really, really thrived since becoming the focal point of a team. Dallas should be kicking themselves for trading him for Kidd, because I think he would have thrived in Rick Carlisle's wide open system.

I know he's probably not the most likely candidate, but Thadeus Young has been a stud this year. I would watch out for him next season and beyond.

I think if Nate played the same role as Mo Williams on the Cavaliers, he would have a decent shot.

The big reason why he SHOULDN'T be a candidate is because he's a 2nd year player. It's expected for people in their 2nd season to progress, so I don't think they should ever be a candidate.

And I agree Mr. J, if Nate played Mo Williams' role in Cleveland, he'd have a good shot as an All Star because of the fact he'd be on a winning team. Oh, and because his teammates and the entire organization would bitch and moan because he wasn't an All Star.

Well according to you LeBron isn't even the MVP, so the Cavs must have another couple of All-Star worthy players to have won 60 games, no?

Devin Harris for sure, but I really think John Salmons should get some credibility. He took his game to another level this year with the Kings and Bulls.

Not necessarily. It could be like the Pistons. They didn't really have an "All Star", per se. However, they did have a lot of really good players who knew their role on the team and played in to it very well. That's how I see the Cavs. They don't really have a second All Star (in my opinion), but they have a lot of players who know their role on the team and fit it very well.

Also, just putting it out there, but I'm not the only one who doesn't think LeBrick is the MVP.

Apart from Lakers and Heat fans, there wouldn't be very many at all. The latter probably have a legitimate argument, but Laker fans just seem to be very bitter towards LeBron. Why is this? Is it because Kobe isn't now widely regarded as the league's best player, or some other reason?

This would be the same 'LeBrick' who is shooting an excellent 49% from the floor, a respectable 77% from the line and a not that bad 34% from outside this season too, yeah?

I think Laker fans are just bitter that there's someone is arguably better than Kobe.

I'm not bitter at all actually. Why should I be? Kobe got his last year.

I just think that Wade is the more deserving candidate. I've actually been saying that for quite a while.

And LeBron still isn't a great outside shooter. A huge chunk of his shots are in the paint because he can bull his way there with ease. He also gets away with plenty of travels en route to the hoop, but who doesn't in the NBA? His jumper is still erratic, and on most days, if you can force him to shoot jumpers, he's going to have a rough game. He can get hot, I'll admit to that, and his jumper is much improved, but he's only a decent outside shooter at best. Kobe is still FAR superior in that aspect.

And I'll still also take Kobe as the best player in the league, not just because he's a better shooter, but he's also a far superior defensive player, still. People who talk about Lebron as the DPOY only look at his stats, but he's still not a great man defensive player in my opinion.

Devin Harris, but I'm surprised nobody mentioned Kevin Durant because Maurice Brooks put him at 1st in his Awards Watch.

Kevin Durant doesn't fit my criteria, personally. I don't think any 2nd year player should ever win it. They're expected to get better and improve.
