... for a PG? What if Rudy and our pick could bring back Rubio or Sessions or??

Edit: Blazers should probably throw a PG in there too. They would have a pile of them if they didn't.

No way we trade rudy the organization has a lot of money riding on mr.suave because of the woman fans there would be a fucking riot if we traded him. Only way I see him leaving is if he asks to be traded because of the amount of time he gets and even then I'm hardpressed to see that happening because I think he might take more of roys minutes so Roy isn't so damned beat up. Get the notion of trading rudy out of your head he's not goin anywhere anytime soon just like batum

I'd trade Rudy for a very good young point guard / point guard prospect like Sessions or Rubio without a doubt. Those two players are / will be at least as good as Rudy and have a solid chance to be better, plus a true point guard would be a much better fit for the talent than another shooting guard, as Rudy is.

Monta is 6 months younger than Fernandez and 5 times the player that Fernandez is. If Rudy is as good as you guys think he is then Monta projects out to be the GOAT.

Thus far Rudy is a decent 3 point specialist swingman. Hes got an ok future ahead of him but hes no star. No ones going to give you a top shelf young PG prospect for him just like no one's going to give one for Monta Ellis either who is, again, younger and significantly more proven in the league.

    You're probably right.

How about, would you be interested in Rudy packaged with players/pics/cash, for Sessions/Rubio? (not BR, LMA, GO, JP or NB)

We're not moving Rudy. Just stop.

As far as PG's go, I like Conley.

Monta Ellis is the better player (assuming this season was unrepresentative due to injury), but you're significantly underrating Fernandez. He's not just a three-point specialist. He's also a very good passer, an excellent defensive rebounder for his position and has some defensive skill, though he's currently not strong enough to avoid being overwhelmed by most NBA shooting guards.

As a 23 year old rookie, Fernandez was about the caliber of an average NBA starter. In his prime, he'll probably be somewhere between average and All-Star. So, yes, no star, but a very good player.

I doubt anyone who drafts Rubio is going to want to trade him for anything. I know you guys love Rudy but as an outsider I just don't see what you guys see. I think he'll be a good player but I would be surprised if he was ever a star. Every team has their overrated prospects; Amir Johnson is Detroit comes to mind, Monta/Biedrins/Morrow/Randolph in GS probably don't have the same value as GS fans percieve, most of the Chicago roster (aside from Rose), Blatche in Washington, Dorrell Wright in Miami. Rudy's a nice player but no ones going to give you a blue chip prospect for him.

Sessions is feasible but I assume they really like him in Milwaukee. A package revolving around Rudy plus some other decent players could be good enough talent wise but Milwaukee has Redd, Jefferson, Bell, Alexander, and Mbah a Moute at the 2/3 and only Ridnour and Sessions at the 1. It seems like every fan of every team wants to land Sessions but why would Milwaukee let him go?

A Rudy + your pick package could net you guys a good veteran PG though.

If I was Pritchard I'd go one of two ways; 1) wait on Bibby and Miller in the offseason, see what offers they receive from other teams and try to sway them to sign relatively short term contracts at a bargain price. These guy scan still play. Bibby particularly would be good fit for you guys despite his shitty defense IMO.

    2) I'd go the Cavs route. You guys seem to be infatuated with landing a pure PG but it seems like a waste next to Roy. Roy can facilitate, he handles the ball a ton. The Cavs got Mo Williams, a guy who can handle well, pass ok, but scores very well with and without the ball so that LeBron can dominate the ball. I think you guys would be well suited to get a guy who can score off the ball to help Roy out when hes dominating the ball. That's why I think Bibby is a nice fit, he can shoot it well but he can also create, take over ball handling duties, etc. Hinrich can do that plus he plays good defense. Jason Terry would be a good fit if the Mavs want to dump him and retain Kidd. Barbosa is available but a little sketchy as a full time PG. Of course if Bayless is ready (he doesn't seem to be I suppose) he could fill in here.

I think taking either of those routes would get you a nice player who fits well without having to give up too much.

I've read on here that you guys think Fernandez tired out quite a bit around January and became more of a 3 pt only guy. I'll take your word for his other skills. He seems intelligent and fairly athletic. Hes already a very good 3 pt shooter. He had his rookie problems as most rookies do. I'll buy what you're saying, I think he'll be a good player, perhaps a nice second fiddle type guy next to Roy/Oden (if he ever gets there offensively).

BTW don't sleep on Monta this season. He had injury issues but he was nuts when fully recovered. Check the splits for April and his one game in March. :ghoti:

Monte had only one year where he was better than Rudy's rookie year - and that was his 3rd year. If you actually adjust Monte's production to GSW's frantic pace - he is not that legendary. He is a good player - very good - but I will be shocked if Rudy will not take huge strides next year. The thing I love about Rudy is his BBIQ - which looks, quite frankly - better than anything I have seen from Ellis. I fell in love with Roy's game as a rookie because he just seemed so much smarter than most players around him - and the same is true for Rudy. Rudy just had his first year or adjusting to a very different role, city, language, schedule - and if you do not think he will be much better next year - you have to be crazy.

At 24, and with several seasons of pro experience under his belt, Rudy is not a typical rookie. He will (hopefully) refine his game for the NBA, but he is much closer to his ceiling than either Batum or Bayless.

Heck, I'll go on record with a prediction right now: within 2 years, we will all be watching Batum and wondering how anybody ever thought Rudy was the better player!

I can defintly go along with this....I've seen another post on here with Rudy being traded for Caron Butler, Gerald Wallace or Prince......and had the nerve to say that "they might not be enough to get Rudy"?!?!? WTF?!?! Two of those guys have been frickin' All-Stars and aren't even that old yet!!! I get kinda sick with how much some players are overratted by thier fans.....lol

Rudy turned 24 less then a month ago (April 4th)... it's more accurate to list a guys age as how old they were 90%+ of the season don't you think?

I think next year will give us much better ideas of how these three project as pros, but it's very possible that any one of them could come out as the top player.

:dunno: You can measure it either way - Batum is still 3years/8 months younger and didn't play against the same level of competition in Europe.

At the least, I think we can agree that Batum was a major steal that late in the draft!
