As you may have seen, the Boston Celtics are turning into today's Detroit Pistons "Bad Boy"-era type team. They have players on the bench screaming obscene profanities to opposing players, acting like thugs, and committing unnecessarily hard fouls. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were never winners and were very likable players—until they joined up together on the Celtics. Pierce has become cockier. He claims that he is the best player in the league. It's good to have confidence, but you have to have a point where you should not get cocky. Being the self-proclaimed "best player in the league" is not confidence, it's cockiness. You never see LeBron James or Kobe Bryant going out and calling themselves the best player in the league—they give each other the title instead. The Big Ticket has turned into the Big Jerk by many former fans. He has been obnoxious and rude ever since he joined the Celtics. He has made an even bigger case for it thus far in the playoffs. He can not play due to injury, so he screams and yells at opposing players while sitting on the bench in his suit. He was notably shown yelling at Chicago Bulls guard Ben Gordon and center Brad Miller. Garnett has been picking on smaller guards this past season and the NBA has yet to do anything about it but "keeping an eye on the situation." That hasn't done anything, since Garnett still harasses players. Rajon Rondo has become a part of the act ever since the playoffs have started. He has played feisty and has gotten tangle up with players on many occasions. The referees were criticized for not calling a flagrant foul on Rondo in the closing seconds of Game Five because he slapped across Brad Miller's face which later resulted in Miller getting stitches. In Game Six, Rondo attacked guard Kirk Hinrich. He pulled him down, and Hinrcich hit the scorers' table while they were running back on the other side of the court. A flagrant one foul was called this time—but this should have been a flagrant two, which results in an ejection. The Celtics may be the best basketball franchise ever, but their actions on the court these past few seasons are making them one of the most-hated teams as well.
This shit from the Celtics is pissing me off. I gave them credit for beating the Lakers, and considered them still one of the best in the league. But I'm starting to lose respect for guys like Rajon Rondo who consistently look to start shit. I can count atleast 5 guys he's almost gotten in a fight with this season. I won't be surprised if the Bulls get pissed enough to where they beat the Celtics by 15+ in Boston.
I completely agree Umair! I've always thought Rondo would be a future all-star if not an all-star status player now, but no one will respect his sneaky attitude (reminds me of Bowen in a way; hurt players when no one's paying attention then walk away like he didn't do anything) and dirty plays. I also remember lots of players he's almost gotten into a fight with this season. Other than Rondo's low class plays and KG's annoying intense attitude, I think the Celtics are a great, especially with players like Big Baby, Pierce, Allen and Perkins who have skills and potential. Anyway, GO BULLS lol.
I'm glad I don't root for a team full of pussies that let's some douche yelling at them get into their heads, or lets a 6'1" point guard bully them around. How mentally weak are NBA players these days where this has to become an issue?
Garnett has always been a bitch. Everyone is just taking notice now because he's actually winning shit. Had no one came in between Rondo and Hinrich, Kirk would of ripped his head off. I would of loved it. At least Lil Dino's shot was rejected in the end.
I love this. The Bulls fan who has to deal with the Celtics 'antics' calling them classless punks. Go back to your pothole.
This coming from a guy whose favorite player spit french fries in his wife's face and then punched her right in front of their 2 year old son. Way to prioritize.
lol i'm not really a bulls fan but it would be amusing if they won so you approve of rondos antics? and shifting the responsibility of his actions to the bulls by saying they're letting a 6'1" guard bully them? very classy. yeah, let's all just be sneaky and intentionally hurt other players and try to get away with it because that's how basketball is supposed to be played. might as well just try to knock someone out while swinging downwards to block a shot or even better incorporate fighting into the sport and still call it basketball. truly a coward's tactic. he'd get killed if the refs didn't stop hinrich or if this wasn't the nba. of course players would fight back but there are consequences. they could probably get him back using the same sneaky tactics but some players have class. anyway the celtics aren't winning this year so that's cool
as much as i dislike the celtics, it is only because i am a laker fan, yes at times garnett gets a little out of control, but some of you need to really grow a pair and realize its a mans game, thier not out their to be best friends so stop whining.
I will rep you for the rest of your S2 life. But I'm voting for Paul, I hate him for not taking control of the games and acting like a bitch out there, having so many turnovers, and making the Bulls a better defending team than the Cavs last season.
These guys wanna win and they don't care what they have to do to get the W. I think its admirable and adds excitement to the league. Who wants to watch boring games?? Basketball is a contact sport, and if players let themselves be pushed around then its going to be a boring sport for fuckin pussies!
I don't think being hated is a problem either. It just shows how dangerous the team is if you're hated alot. No one hates the Charlotte Bobcats or Oklahoma Thunder right??
