Barca had two extremely close calls on attacks. One cross that Messi just missed putting home and then a shot off a free kick that went off the post. Manchester United very lucky to only be down one goal.
Gotta love soccer and their fans.... A CERIMONIAL STABBING BEFORE THE GAME...NO BIGGIE http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_y...lug=ap-championsleague-fans&prov=ap&type=lgns
Either team had the talent to win. As it played out, though, Barcelona was utterly dominant after the first 10 minutes. It was more lopsided than the score indicates, IMO. Barca had some incredibly close call misses and just overall controlled the game.
I know Eto'o scored I was just stating how I love Messi. That was some dominance. When they get a hold of the ball they don't lose it unless they shoot and the other team gets the ball. Oh how sweet it was to watch that.
How do you figure? RM is my favorite Spanish club but they may not even make it out of the group stage. They need a significant upgrade in talent across the board. -Pop
Florentino Perez is the answer. Kaka has already signed a contract and Ronaldo could still possibly come in. Florentino's project is historic. El Pais says he plans on spending over 350 Euros to make Real the best team again. I excited.
pfff, los galaticos strategy doesn't win anything. Kaka isn't what Real Madrid need, it's stability. Which will never happen, so they'll continue to get killed by teams with less talent but a million times better organized and coached like Liverpool... anyway, what great performances from the Barca midfield. Busquets was solid, but Iniesta and Xavi were absolutely dominant. Pure class watching the way they casually knock the ball around, they always seem to have plenty of time on the ball. I love how patient Barca are in the final third, so many teams just cross the ball and see what happens, Barca wait and find a hole in the defense. Hilarious listening to the always-idiotic Tommy Smyth suggest that Darren Fletcher would have made a difference... though to be fair, he couldn't have played any worse than Carrick did.
That kind of money makes me rage. How are the English clubs so dominant when we don't pump millions of pounds/euros into our clubs? Don't include Chelski. The only player that seemed to show up for United was Ronaldo... Rooney and Tevez worked pretty hard too but didn't produce any half-chances.
I actually like the Blazers now. I secretly read all the Blazer thread but I have no idea what you're talking about. I do know that Odem = God in Oregon though!
Lamar Odom = punk Greg Oden = god. There is a talent draft held every year, in reverse order of record (i.e., worst record first). You can sell draft picks, which many teams do to stay under something called the "luxury tax", which is a penalty put on teams whose payroll goes over a certain amount. Paul Allen, because he's filthy rich has been looser with his wallet than most other owners. We purchased the draft picks that netted us Sergio Rodriguez, Rudy Fernandez and Petteri Koponen. It bothers the fans of other teams and the management of teams owned by cheapskates that we've been so agressive.
