The article really doesn't mention them trading the #2 away. They refer to Milicic as a former #2, but it appears to be a trade without any draft picks.
Damn, feels good to finally make my way back to this site, been a while..... As for the Knicks, I think tonight is going to be a lot quieter than most think. The Darko deal will likely happen tomorrow but I don't see us moving from the 8th spot at this point and now that we bought the 29th pick from LA I think Walsh and D'Antonio are just going to focus on whats available at each spot. I know they love Curry (I'd rather not take him) but we'll see how it plays out. I think the Kings selection at 4 will really set the table for what will happen as they have so many options and they haven't shown their hand as to who they're going to pick.
It's so tough to say with all that could happen ahead of them but I think in the end they'll end up with Jrue Holliday. This of course is assuming Stephen Curry doesn't fall down to our pick because we know thats who Walsh/D'Antonio supposedly want the most. Personally I'd be looking more towards Harden or Evans, but I think both will be gone by the 8th pick. Wild card in my mind is Jonny Flynn, he could go anywhere from 5 to 13 it seems and Knicks do seem to like him. But in the end I say Holliday is a Knick.
I have the Knicks taking Flynn too, but I expect a deal to go down for them to be in position to draft Curry.
How far up do you think they need to go to get Curry? I'm guessing that they need to move up to 5 to make it happen, Wolves won't let them take Curry with the 6th, they'll threaten to pick him themselves if I had to guess. Don't think the Kings are thinking Curry but who really knows with them at this point, they may want to move back just because they don't know who to take at 4.
Here are my predictions of how the lottery shakes out. 1) Clippers: Blake Griffin 2) Grizzlies: Tyreke Evans 3) Thunder: Ricky Rubio 4) Kings: James Harden 5) Wolves: Hasheem Thabeet 6) Wolves: Stephen Curry 7) Warriors: Terrence Williams 8) Knicks: Johnny Flynn 9) Raptors: Jordan Hill 10) Bucks: Jrue Holiday 11) Nets: DeMar DeRozan 12) Bobcats: Brandon Jennings 13) Pacers: Tyler Hansborough 14) Suns: Earl Clark I think the Knicks would need to move up to at least 5 to get their man Curry.
