Michael Crabtree, with advice from his agent, is thinking about holding out for the entire season and re enter the draft. He believes he deserves more money than the 49ers are willing to give. He basically wants money in the top 5. Though I don't believe it's completely his fault, the Raiders had a part in this.

Vince Young, he continues to keep saying the wrong things. Now he expects to become a HOFer. Memo to Vince: It helps your cause if you're a starter.

Crabtree is about to embark on the "Mike Williams" experience, which includes a year out of football, a significant weight gain, a loss of primary WR skills, and a lackluster career that ends when the Lions can't find a roster spot for you....regardless of how good you are, you can't just roll out of bed and play in the NFL....and you sure can't take a year off before your rookie season and expect to be anything close to what you could have been.....at this point, it is fair to ask if the guy really wants to play football, because it doesnt look like it to me....

What did Young say to make him a idiot? And Collins is better for the Titans then Vince, Collins wont make the dumb mistake and turnover the ball.

Crabtree. His whole negotiating strategy is built on mock drafts and pre-draft speculation. If there's a more pointless foundation to ground your desired contract in, I don't know what it is. He's kidding himself if he thinks the 49'ers take his threat to hold out seriously. If he takes the year off, he almost certainly gets drafted later. Teams will be worried about the effect of a year without competitive football and will know that if they draft him too early, they'll probably have to deal with the same idiotic contract negotiations.

vince can do everything collins can and more, the team just won't let him. don't draft and sign the guy if you aren't actually going to let him play his game.

I'm tempted to add Jay Cutler to the list because of his comparison of Broncos and Bear fans. On topic, I agree with everything Beef says. Holding out for one year has nothing but negative effects. His value is going to plummet because they are going to question his heart and bring up the whole talent vs character issue.

no one is questioning VY's abilities....but can you trust a guy that quit football and threatened to kill himself in the middle of an NFL season? maybe you can if hes a lineman or a rb, but at QB? the only way you can succeed in the NFL as a QB is if the rest of the offense trusts you enough to put it all on the line for you, and I am not sure the other guys in the huddle feel they can trust him like that.....and if they can't, it won't matter who good he is, he wont win....

Would he be able to play in the AFL, CFL, that new league? So he would still be in football shape?

The AFL is officially no more. They ended the league a few days ago. He could go to the new league, maybe insist of playing with Vick(who may also end up there), and if those two dominated, he could make a case for being drfted again high....the CFL is all but a joke to NFL brass, so I wouldnt think that would be a good option....

those reports were ridiculously overblown. if you're believing them as truth(and adding your own assumptions on top of it too), well, i can't agree with that.

If it was one or maybe two sources that had that story, you might be able to pass it off as an exxageration, but every major media outlet had at least one guy who had the story....the 2nd part is that you can not deny that he left the team for a period of time....when your starting QB has to leave the team for personal reasons a week into the season, regardless of what the reasons were, the other guys will question his trustworthyness....and dont forget, he was talking about retirement during the previous offseason....hes clearly got depression issues.....until he seeks help(maybe he did, quietly), his life will spin out of control....Ive seen it over and over again in the NFL and in real life....if you dont believe me, look up Barrett Robbins, Alonzo Spellman, and even Ricky Williams....

the bottomline though is that he will have to earn the trust of his teammates again, and he can only do that over time without an incedent....until he does, he cant do what collins can do, which is win in this league....

really? vince young can't win in this league? you obviously haven't paid attention to his history in the league. kerry collins is a garbage qb. he does nothing for a team. vince young can easily do nothing for a team just as well as collins while also accidentally making a couple of plays to help his team win games.

Kerry Collins, who has thrown for nearly 40,000 yards, led a team to the Super Bowl, and led the Titans to the best record in the AFC last season is a garbage QB? But Vince Young, who by the way has done NOTHING in the NFL is considered a good QB? What the hell are you smoking?

Look, Kerry Collins has earn his stripes in the league. Hes not a HoF'r, but he is a good QB who is winding down a nice career....Vince Young is a kid with loads of ability and absolutely zero stripes....the guy has never had a great season, hes never had a good season, hes never had an average season....he does have one below average season and one horrible season to his credit and another one lost to "personal strife"....he has never proven that he can win in the league, so far, all the evidence points to the contrary....he has a hell of a lot of playing to do before he even earns the right to wash Kerry Collins jock strap....
