Dan Patrick refers to him as "Jason" from Friday the 13th because he keeps coming back.

I've started calling him "Zombie Favre." He looks sort of like the Favre we all remember and cherish, but he's not. He's evil and he keeps coming back for more.

Still love him. Glad he's coming back.

I know he is a drama queen and all that shit, but I can't fault a guy who plays because he loves the sport. The dude has millions, he isn't play for money, I respect that.

I know it'll probably start another long Favre debate, but I disagree. The man comes back because of his ego. He wants the attention, he wants the accolades, he wants the praise, and most of all, he wants to stick to his old team for moving on.

Also, fuck him for making this decision after they released Madden.

What more praise could he want? He's got a Super Bowl ring, holds virtually every passing record to date, and has proven he is a warrior on the field. I don't even see how that is a legit argument. He has an easy walk in to the HOF and is a top 10 QB of all time. I disagree with you about it being about his ego.

Sticking it to the Packers? Yeah, that might be a little bit of it...but for the most part, I think its because he loves the game way too much.

As long as there's a team dumb enough to want him, he'll keep playing. Has nothing to do with "love for the game", if that were the case he would have come back for a full training camp, this year and last.

It's all about sticking it to the Packers and his ego.

Every player has an ego. Heck every person has an ego. That's just the way we are. Favre's ego was hurt a lot when the Packers told him no and went with Aaron Rodgers. His ego helps fuel his competitive nature and it's the big reason why he's back. He won't say that right now nor will he say it to his teammates, but in time, I bet he comes out and says this was about getting back at the Pack.

More than praise, he just wants the attention. I disagree that he's coming back again out of love for the game. He doesn't love the game, so much as what the game provides (recognition, admiration, glory).

Football is all about dedication and teamwork. What part of his actions this summer have fit that criteria? He purposely held off on this decision to avoid training camp, where he would have had to put in some legitimate work on his conditioning (not that bullshit he was doing with those high school kids). That's lazy and towards the end of the season, when it starts to take its toll, he'll be letting down his teammates. Favre has never shown the work ethic and unselfishness involved in loving the game as much as the media keeps saying he does.

At least it's a 2 year deal so we don't have to go through another possible retirement saga next year.
