I don't know why Charlotte would do that deal. I would imagine they'd prefer the deal that the Heat are getting... if they move Wallace, it'll be because of money. I don't think any team as cheap and bad as the Bobcats would want Jones's contract. Ed O.
Man, this brings back regrets... I'd trade anyone not named Oden, Roy, or Aldridge to get Wallace and would probably trade two of anyone not in our big three. The big four! Fantastic Four? Nah.... too good to be true.
I don't think us getting Wallace for Outlaw/Bayless is available. If it was it's a no brainer from our end. But during this season if he has an injury or a bad start to the season, gets in Larry Browns doghouse or the Bobcats underachieve maybe Charlotte becomes more receptive. At this time I think we'd have to include Rudy instead of Bayless which I'm not certain would be in our best interest. I do like another player in your proposal, Shane Battier. Houston might decided to end up going in a youth movement, giving them Outlaw/Bayless/two 1st rounders would give them young potential for the future and give us a solid veteran for the present.
The ESPN page wont load up. What was the trade? The Bobcat I'd really like for this team is DJ Augustin.
How does that fill needs for Houston? Is Jackson a huge upgrade over Battier? Do they need a PG more than a PF, even with a young PG playing well in the playoffs last season? I'm not so sure.
I doubt it. Diaw only has $18m left on his deal and Wallace has about $10m more than that. The Bobcats would be moving Wallace to save money, not to get better on the court. Your trade doesn't save them nearly as much money. Ed O.
