Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension No it's not, he completely deserves it that was just awful and I'm happy UEFA and FIFA are taking a stand on this bollock shite that is ruining modern Football! Even if Wayne Rooney did what Eduardo did I would completely understand and I'm sure shite load of United supporters would also understand just like a lot of Arsenal supporters understand why Eduardo should get! Enough is enough! This dive shite needs to end, you remember when Adriano got banned for diving in Serie A, well I hope the same shite starts happening in EPL and across whole UEFA. It will make modern Football much more better.
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension They can't just focus on one player to punish when Ronaldo, Gerrard, and Drogba have been consistently diving for their whole careers. Name a dive Eduardo has done in the past.
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension I agree, and I cannot name a dive Eduardo has committed in the past because I don't follow Arsenal and I don't follow Eduardo so I cannot tell you that but I know every Footballer in the life had dived. So when you said Cristiano Ronaldo, Gerrard, Drogba, etc.... Yes they are big victims so right now UEFA is just waiting for them to slip up and boom they will get a ban also. Eduardo was just a victim and he did it and UEFA did their job and he will probably get a ban. So when Ronaldo does it expect him to get a ban also. UEFA needed to use someone for an example and Eduardo is that example now to the rest of UEFA, any Footballer that does that it again will get a ban. Great rule UEFA!
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension It is a good ruling, but I feel as though it is harsh on Eduardo.
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension He shouldn't have done it at all, it was either way a sure win for you lads so why put more embarrassment on them?
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension Charge yes, ban it's too much. (or even suspension) Now if it happens constantly like every other game then go ahead with the suspension.
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension Adriano in 2007 got banned for 2 matches when he was diving vs. Roma he did the same thing try to win a penalty, but in the end Inter lost 3-1 Then on top of that he won himself a ban. Which I think Eduardo deserves too, right now just give him a one match ban so he can learn an lesson.

Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension What a twat, must everyone bring out Maradona incident every time when their footballers get in trouble? Maradona time and this time is totally different, Maradona wasn't a diver and he scored with his hand only once in his career it's not like he tried it shite load of times. But divers will dive every chance they get. This is what he wrong with modern Football this days.
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension ^ I agree about the modern players, but if you want to charge someone now why stop there, charge Maradona for what he did 30 or 40 years ago (I'm just throwing numbers here lol) and start charging everyone else who is known for diving and doing crap like that. Going only after Eduardo is a witch hunt. Both UEFA and FIFA are after EPL because it's the best league with the most money. (as a league together)
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension Young dived against Rapid Vienna yesterday and won a penalty, not once, but twice! That was also in a European competition so why didn't he get banned? Rooney dived to win a penalty to win a penalty today, yet we won't hear anything about it.
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension Rooney in my eyes dived and didn't and I will explain why. Rooney is strong enough to avoid it and when I mean strong enough to avoid it I'm meaning that contact he received, so in Rooney mind he was like fuck I got contact right now, might as well fall and that's what happen. So you can look at it dive and not a dive. But it was totally different then Eduardo's dive.
Re: Eduardo charged, likely to face suspension Rooney started falling in anticipation of contact. So did Eduardo. The difference was Almunia got his arm on Rooney's foot whereas the Celtic GK never touched Eduardo.
Fair enough. I'll expect other players to be banned one game for diving anywhere on the pitch and two games for diving which results in a penalty or a sending off of the player committing the "tackle"--Even if the referee makes a bad decision.
Update: Eduardo's two-game suspension has been revoked. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/8236689.stm
