Kanye is a joke. I have much more respect for someone who at her age can not only sing (which kanye can not), but writes her own stuff as well. I think she has a bright future ahead of her. Anyway, I don't see why this is any different than people freaking out about the Jordan HOF speech. In some ways it's worse. It's not like MJ got up on stage in the middle of Stockton's speech and said: Jordan: John, John John..... I'm happy for you and everything, and I'm gonna let you finish, but I am the greatest basketball player of all time! I am the greatest basketball player of all time! And then walked off stage.

LOL. It made me laugh because it's true. Also, Taylor Swift is big with the young girls. Hell, my two daughters like her music more than they like Miley Cyrus. Plus, as previously mentioned, she writes her own songs as well. She seems very talented and seems to have her head screwed on right.
I found a lot of irony in this post. Also, Beyonce's song (which she didn't write) flat out sucks. It isn't even in the top 10 songs she's performed over her career, IMO. Plenty of reasons to rush the stage, but doing so to defend Beyonce's foolish tune isn't one of them. While it seems easy for you to snark on these people, also remember that a lot of hard work goes into writing/producing a song, let alone an award winning song.

I think Kanye West is awesome. I love his album. Even 808s and Heartbreak. I fucking love 808s and Heartbreak. But what he did last night was beyond fucked up. It was surreal. I wouldn't be surprised if Kanye and Swift put out a single together now. But I have a question...how in the hell does Beyonce's video not win best female video but the same exact video won for best overall video? Makes no goddamn sense.

That is a big red flag for mediocre performer right there. Some of the most god-awful music to sell big is supported by teenage girls. Don't know what it is about them, but, as a group, they tend to have bad taste in pop music.
Swift is so talented, it almost sucks so is so big with younger girls. Swift is one of the few pop artists I respect.
It was a rather lengthy and somewhat angry opinion. I found it odd that someone so passionate about their opinion wouldn't have a clue about Taylor Swift. I can't name 3 of her songs, but my kids seem to like her and we listen to her, and Kanye West did act like a drunken fool. I do appreciate you admitting that your opinion is formed somewhat in ignorance, however.
She is a great pop songwriter considering she is just a year out of high school. Her voice, however, isn't exactly great live. She's still a hell of a musician.

you stated it as it were a fact that kanye is a much more talented than swift. you basically said "who cares what kanye did, taylor swift sucks because i've never heard of her and no one cares (or should care) about these awards anyway" and made it seem as if him being a high level talent is all that matters and that he can be an assclown however much he wants to because of it. i'd say if anyone is taking the award shows too seriously, it would be kanye. he's the guy who ran on stage after an award was given out for best female video, took the mic from the 19 year old girl who just won her first award, and told her she didn't deserve it. and really, for someone talking all this shit about how little these awards and award shows mean, it's funny that you appear to have watched the whole thing.
