Just some tidbits from Marcus Thompson's Twitter:

-SJax asked not to be a captain in meeting with Nellie, Riley. Request granted

-Nellie exits the practice facility, with most of the players still on the court, wearing Mavericks jacket!

-Jackson said he will listen to Nellie on the court. But off it? Not so much

Man, just last Feb. Sjax called into Warriors Round Table as "Billy" and asked Nellie about himself. It was hilarious. Nellie was saying he loves Stephen Jackson and it seemed like he loved Nellie too. What the F happened???

matt_steinmetz Stephen Jackson on whether his suspension is last of it: "I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. I can't predict the future."

gswscribe (MTII): Jackson would consider a buyout if "it's right." But ge doesn't think it will happen. He is also cool with them sending him home with pay

Jackson and Maggette for a player that can actually play basketball and play for the team, not themselves. or a superstar. :D

Screw that asshole. If I'm paying him, he's going to be sitting there on the far end of the bench in every single practice and every single game until he gets traded for value, agrees to void his contract, or accepts a reasonable buyout ( < 20%).

The article certainly makes it sound very bad (mostly Jackson's own words). I can't see how things possibly get fixed up with this one, it really sounds like Nellie and Jack have crossed a line and can't come back. They better get him out of here before there's another Sprewell/Weber type incident...or worse.

But the thing I don't understand is how come it became a beef between Jackson and Nellie? I mean, I understand Nellie has a history, but so does Sjax. In any case, Jackson said that he was unhappy with the way the team was deconstructed. Now he's saying he can't deal with the coach off the court. Just last Feb, Jack called into KNBR (Warriors Round Table) when Nellie was fielding calls from fans. He said he was "Billy." At that time, the two loved each other genuinely. How does it come from there to here in a span of what, 7 - 8 months?

Jackson can say whatever he wants, but I really doubt there are too many beef, or too many love between Nelson and him to begin with. Players are happy when the team is winning, and they aren't when the team is not. And, Jackson said all the right things to get paid, and I am sure Jackson would act differently if he hadn't gotten that extension. Now that he is paid, he wants to be in a better situation, meaning he wants to challenge for championship or at least get an endorsement like Harrington. Just a horrible situation to be in...

You're just being facetious. Seriously though, I can't think of any reason why he would go from "loving" his coach to basically hating him. For what? The guy resurrected his career. This franchise did. If we're going to place all the blame on ownership and management, we should give ownership and management all the credit for saving Jackson's career.

Yeah, Mullin was the one who brought him in and if we want to dissect the whole situation, it's appropriate to say Mullin, not Cohan or Rowell, was the one who was responsible for We Believe. At the same time, Cohan is the one that hired Mullin, so we should thank him for that.

Jackson straight out betrayed his employer, blatantly. We can talk all about how screwed up ownership and management is, but looking at Jackson only, he's a con artist, a saboteur, a greedy, selfish, immature kid. He had no father figure in his life and it shows. Not that it's an excuse...there are many people in this world without a father or mother figure and they turn out fine.

Sorry, I'm not on Jackson's side on this, even if he's speaking the "truth." Let the fans and media speak the truth. As fans, we just want the players we're stuck with shut up and play. If you've got nothing good to say, don't say it!

SCREW YOU STEPHEN JACKSON. I should have run you over in my truck when I saw you at Union Square!!!

I hear ya Dr K. Everytime I think about the extension of Jackson I go straight to Mullin vs Rowell....It's disgusting.

Mullin was also the one who convinced Biedrins to stop his workouts with other teams so he'd fall to the Warriors. He also had the stones to make the trade for Baron. And then Rowell went and pushed for Magette and Jackson's early extension. Mullin Clearly learned from his early mistakes and was building something. I would love for a new ownership to come in and bring Mullin back in as the architecht of a new (SJ/SF/Oakland) Warriors

Trade Jackson for Big Z! Cavs and Warriors do it later in the season. It could happen.

Would that have taken his salary off the books? May be something to consider?

Really, though, is there any amount of problems he can cause to legally void his contract? He's already shown that he had no intention of playing out this contract. That should count for something. If he starts missing practices or missing his appearances (which I'm sure are included in his contract) would that be enough?

I think I remember the Knicks talking about voiding Marbury's contract. Aside from him being a complete psycho, I don't remember him doing anything much worse than Jax.

It would be ideal for us but I don't think we'll get back a big time expiring contract like that for Jackson. At best we can hope for a moderately good player and a small-ish expiring.

Did you guys see this quote from Jackson? Wow, another day, another pearl. I understand most pro athletes have large egos, but I can't believe how full of himself Jackson is. First he says he's pretty much single-handedly responsible for turning the Warriors franchise around, now he thinks he's as good as Kobe. See you at the All-Star game! Yes, you'd better take a trip to Springfield and block out which hallway you'd like for your shrine in the HOF, Jack. What a tool. I have to admit I liked this guy for a while, but he's quickly becoming my most despised player in the sport.

Here's a crazy thought, why don't the Warriors FO actually give Jackson what he was initially promised? You know, go out and get a star. Jackson's trade value is shit right now, so I wouldn't even bother fielding calls. Why not instead trade Monta and some expiring contracts (Speedy, Law, George, Watson) or a guy with value that's not expensive like Azubuike)?

Looks like that's not an option.
