So kobe's shooting about 37% from the field in the pre-season. I know it's only pre-season but, is anyone concerned? I think this may be the year that we see a substantial decline in his fg%. Im thinking some where between 44-45%. Thoughts?
lol, if 44% is a "substancial decline" in Kobe's field goal then I must not have been watching the same Kobe this past decade :S. And no, he should be fine, I wanna see him more in the high post, shooting less 3s and dishing he ball more. I expect him to get around 25, 5.5 RPG and 6.5 APG this year.
Yeah it is a decline actually. He hasnt shot under 46% over the last few seasons. Seeing that he has had more talent around him over the last few years his percentage has gone up compared to the smush and kwame years. 44% may not be a "substantial" decline, but it's much closer to an A.I. type percentage than it is a Lebron percentage. I know in the grand scheme of things and over a long period of time, there isnt much difference between 44% or 47%. My point is that I think this may be the year that we see some of the miles show more than they have over the last season or two. Not only in his quickness and jumping abilities, but in the consistency of his jumper.
Kobe likes meaty man meat, meet it meat you who themeet fuck you i don't know the way out of here, walking legs fuck that shit, you're meaty you meat.
Lol let me break it down, Dude. I was just talking about the last 3 years. Not the last 13. You get what Im sayin yet?
If he is a career 45% shooter it isn't a decline. It means over the last three years he over achieved
Are you serious?????????? I'll try one more time to make this easier to understand. I wasn't refering to his entire career. I was refering to the last few years of it. And he didnt over achieve over the last few years lol. Come on now.
His Efficiency has gone up the last couple of years because he takes less shots. The more PPG, the harder it is to maintain one's efficiency. I think you're using the pre-season as too much of a barometer. His Free Throw drawing doesn't seem to be down (an athletic marker) compared to last year, his jumper is just off. I really doubt his efficiency declines, if anything it will be his volume statistics that are hurt. I expect him to produce at the end of the season as well, I don't want him to get burned out in the regular year. Bryant generally paces himself well.
If he's a career 45% shooter and you expect him to shoot 44-45% this year, there is minimal to no decline there. Just because he's been over 45% the past couple of years doesn't mean that is his career norm. His career norm is 45%, therefore making 45% shooting that you expect, AVERAGE for him and not a decline. A decline compared to last year? Yeah, but not a decline to his career %
And he takes less shots because he has more help now than he had 3 to 5 years ago. And I agree about this being pre-season. Much of it may very well be rust. Kobe even mentioned that he took more time off this summer than he has in a very long time. I'm just wondering if this may be the year that we start to see a steady decline in his play.
He was completely alone in 06-07, took less shots, and was more efficient. It has nothing to do with the help around him.
He was more efficient compared to what? He did shoot well that year. And of course it has to do with the talent around him. It takes a load of his shoulders. I'm pretty sure the years Kobe shot his worst percentages, excluding his first 2 seasons, were the first couple without Shaq when they were horrible. He was shooting a ton then so don't tell me it has nothing to do with the help around him. Why the does everyone feel the need to over analyze everything posted? I simply asked if anyone thought that the miles would be more apparent on Kobe this year than any other. It was that simple.
