    Re: The FIFA 10 Thread

Got mine today, haven't opened it up yet. Heard good things.

09 was great so as long as they didn't change too much 10 should be just as good or better.

Supposedly the 360 control makes it much more fluid compared to 09. From the demo I felt the difference.

I didn't want to try the demo, I'll see if I can head down to Best Buy after class.

Would I be able to take the US, and win the World Cup in it?

    Re: The FIFA 10 Thread

Can you win the world cup? I thought that was FIFA World Cup only.

Anyway the game is harder than 09. The opponent AI is smarter. Movement is freer meaning you'll run out of bounds more easily, get the ball knocked off you feet more frequently, and clumsily bash into other players all game. But that's a good thing.

    So far so good.

Had it since the UK release date (Oct 2) Gotta say in a different class to 09, the 360 dribbling is sick and me and a couple mates play the pro clubs with our virtual pros. Pretty damn good.

    Re: The FIFA 10 Thread

I'm still have problems dribbling and keeping the ball, but I had a beautiful through-ball and goal yesterday.

It seems like they've made the team ratings quite low this year. Arsenal are in the high 70s same with almost every other 'top' club. I believe that EA have been doing this with all of their sporting ranges.

I am a bit disappointed with the commentary this year, though. They still sound so robotic, especially in the opening introdutions. "Hello, I'm Martin Tyler and welcome to Emirates." -- Nice one.

Everything else is great, I just started Manager Mode with Portsmouth, enjoying it so far.

    Re: The FIFA 10 Thread

Guys, someone help me out. I can't seem to do anything on World Class. Like, they can't score, and I can't score, lol. Every break that I have, I always seem to lose possession and it's so damn hard to run at defenders? Should I be doing step-overs and shit? Am I missing something? I can only score wonder goals or like... Really really good through-balls.

Exactly the same issue as my friend and I were having playing co-op against the AI. They are great defenders and can catch up to you and knock you off the ball easily. I haven't tried playing at pro yet to see if there is a difference.

    Re: The FIFA 10 Thread

Yeah, there's no problem on the easiest setting, but there's the same problem on the 2nd settings so I assume it's the same for pro.

I guess I'll just have to get used to it, but it's pretty annoying. I guess it's realistic though... I love through-balls in the game though, and the players are so much smarter when staying online. Walcott is really good in that game for some reason...

    Re: The FIFA 10 Thread

Professional setting is probably the way to go -- though I can't gauge everyone's playing level/style. World class really is hard (which makes the game that much better). The AI this year has been improved signiicantly.

I'm playing manager mode with a random team in league 1 like Brighton (with two players my friend and I created -- ourselves, rated mid-70s). There's something rewarding about playing manager mode with a team and promoting them. It's definitely a lot more fun than starting off as a team like Real Madrid or Chelsea.

Yes, I've always enjoyed being a lower division team and making my way up the table.

I didn't check, but I hope Woking is included in the Conference South... Hopefully -- I know who I'll be playing when I get back from work! :)

I love how tight the games can be on World Class even though none of my games are high scoring. My most exciting game was 3-2 when I played Hull.

You're lucky you're an Arsenal fan, otherwise I would completely hate you.

    Re: The FIFA 10 Thread

My friends and I did the same thing, trying to get Nottingham promoted.

The create-a-stadium feature is cool too. You get to pick a generic stadium (if your club's isn't already in the game) and name it. You can pick based on weather conditions if you like. We picked a European outdoor field for Nottingham because it had every weather condition. The cityscape looks more like Belgium or Holland than England but w/e.

It's nice to be able to play at night and in the rain again. Dunno why that option was removed previously.
