I know the year isn't over, but it's time to have some discussion about our favourite albums of the year. I've listened to too many albums but ones that need to checked out are: P.O.S. - Never Better Converge - Axe To Fall Thrice - Beggars Matthew Good - Vancouver Brand New - Daisy Propagandhi - Supporting Caste Alice In Chains - Black Gives Way To Blue August Burns Red - Constellations Set Your Goals - This Will Be The Death Of Us Closure In Moscow - First Temple HORSE the band - Desperate Living Rx Bandits - Mandala Maybeshewill - Sing The Word Hope In Four-Part Harmony Dance Gavin Dance - Happiness Defeater - Lost Ground Russian Circles - Geneva Thursday - Common Existence The Dear Hunter - Act III: Life And Death Dividing The Line - At Least It's Not Light Gallows - Grey Britain Oh, Sleeper - Son Of The Morning The Silversun Pickups - Swoon Across The Sun - Pestilence and Rapture Daitro - Y Everytime I Die - New Junk Aesthetic fun. - Aim And Ignite Raekwon - Only Built For Cuban Linx Part 2 Sunlight Ascending - All The Memories, All At Once Emery - ...In Shallow Seas We Sail The Sleeping - What It Takes Before you say, OMGGGGG, list fail, he doesn't have *Insert name*, maybe I haven't listened to it yet, or if I have (because I've listened to way more than just this), ask my opinion. Post your our album thoughts as well.
I've bought gobs of CDs this year and I can't even begin to think of what the best are at the moment. Alice In Chains definitely sticks, out, so does Them Crooked Vultures. I'll come back to this topic after I sleep and give some actual thought in to it.
Haven't listened to much new music this year, but I did catch Silversun's album and it was quite excellent. Very unique vocals and real smooth sound, Instrumentals are polished as well. I've heard almost all of Swoon. I only know a little about "Oh,Sleeper", but they didn't seem bad. I have not gotten around to Brandy New and Alice's new stuff.
Good Calls. P.O.S. is definitely overlooked for the tunes he's cranking out. Here are some artists that had some nice CD's that I want to throw in: Slaughterhouse Swollen Members Wolfmother Jet Breathe Carolina Cobra Starship Black Eye Peas Burn Halo Asher Roth One Block Radius
I figured I was the only person on this board who knew of Burn Halo. I like that band a lot more than the singers other band, 18 Visions. So, as I thought about it, I really don't know what the best album of the year is or my top 10 even (at least not yet), so I'll just throw out some CDs that stick out to me. Resident Hero - Look Blue October - Approaching Normal Alice In Chains - BGWTB Paramore - Brand New Eyes Them Crooked Vultures - s/t Smile Empty Soul - Conciousness Sick Puppies - Tripolar Hurt - Goodbye To The Machine Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown Daughtry - Leave This Town Breaking Benjamin - Dear Agony Adelitas Way - s/t Royal Bliss - Life In-Between I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting, but I have no clue at this point. I've bought so much music this year that I can't even think of some of the stuff.
Age is only a number. If there's grass on the field, play ball.... ...if there isn't, go in the back and play in the mud!
Paramore - Brand New Eyes was really good, definitely agree on that I'll add a few Blu & Sene - A Day Late & A Dollar Short Tanya Morgan - Brooklynati Cunninglynguists - Strange Journey Vol. 1 & 2 Fashawn - Boy Meets World and some country.... Jason Aldean - Wide Open
Katy Perry and Lady Gaga pretty much owned up the music industry in 2009. You could practically call 2009 the "Year of Gaga" How many damn hits did she have?
Fuckin hedley has more success Converge, but does that make them better, fuck no. Top 40 is for little girls and ***s. I listen to artists that perfect their craft and don't sell out.
If you're implying I took the joke from you, no. I've heard it a lot before. But, if you're implying I'm disagreeing with my previous statement, then uh...just...call me John Kerry!
