It really would. Thats why I'm not quick to say lets trade for T-Mac because we're only going off assumption that he's gonna be in good basketball form. The only thing we can agree on is that he wont be in allstar form, but Im not willing to take a contract of a guy who cant play for us right now. Now after he comes back and if he's producing, then lets talk.
We may as well bump the "Season is a wash" thread now. With that a given, what is the best strategy? To lose the rest of our games and get the #1 pick, to have an expiring TMac deal coming off the books for free agency 2010, and to have a couple of guys slightly better than D-Leaguers so we might be somewhat attractive to a premier FA or two. And Rose and Deng. An even better strategy is for Reinsdorf to sell the team to an owner who cares about winning and to rid ourselves of management who would rather be mediocre with mediocre talent (but play hard, dammit) than have a roster full of talented guys that can give us hope of a championship.
If Harrington is a FA at the end of the year, then the bulls have way more than enough space to offer the max deal. They'd have to renounce Tyrus to get there as things are now. This would make the bulls a lot better now if Gibson can come off of the bench and play decently.
