If we do land Hinrich, do we start him and move Fisher to the bench? What does that do to Shannon or Jordan's minutes? Do we bring Kirk off the bench? Do we look to ship out Jordan, too?

This team isn't going to trade Fisher, that is just not going to happen. He'll finish his career here in LA. I can't see us staying pat with Hinrich, Fisher, Farmar, and Shannon all being able to play PG. Obviously Shannon would still get minutes coming in for Kobe, but where does that leave Farmar? How would Fisher feel about coming off the bench? What are the chances that we can land Hinrich?

It depends on how quick Hinrich can learn the offense. The Lakers would be trading for him to play starter minutes and limit the amount of on court time Fisher has been playing.

Along with Fisher, we could see some inconsistent rotation minutes with Shannon Brown and Jordan Farmar. Their minutes will vary depending on their production. Farmar played very well with Kobe out and showed he's the second best player on our roster at dribble penetration and finishing around the rim.

Shannon Brown has been inconsistent with his shot lately and has regressed on the defensive end. I think all this hype about the Slam Dunk contest got to him a bit and with All-Star weekend out of the way hopefully he can rediscover his defensive intensity.

sit Fisher as a player/coach and rotate Farmar and Hinrich at the point.

I 100% agree with you....except if we pull one of those old timer trades where he is bought out and comes back in 30 days....that would be sweet and let Fisher rest.

If that doesnt happen but we get Kirk then I say Fisher starts another 10-15 games after the trade until Kirk is put in the starting lineup

Rumors have it that Chicago wants Shannon Brown in return.

That would be a deal breaker.

I agree. I wouldn't let go of Brown, he is showing his potential here in LA and I think that PG spot is his once Fish steps down, probably next year. Farmar needs to be the piece involved or say no to Chicago.

Really? Farmar and Sasha in a heartbeat, but not Shannon. I like Hinrich, but we've seen his potential...Shannon is still learning.

You really think that? I don't know, I've never been a fan of Farmar. He's too into himself, for me.

A year ago I was a super Farmar hater, but he has progressed pretty well. Its early in his career and hes trying to become a Phil type of PG which was a struggle for him last year. I love what Shannon brings but if I had to pick one going forward I think Farmar offers more for what the Lakers are trying to do

    Shannon isnt playing PG.

He has been a SG almost exclusively. Brown has basically taken all of Sasha minutes. It is Farmar who would need to worry about mnutes if we got Kurt. I doubt Phil would limit Fish any more

    Apparently Salmons is being traded.

If that's true, it limits our chances for Hinrich.

I'm not expecting anything to happen.

I still think there's a chance he could go. He's still a big contract that they don't particularly want.
